Ormonde Man by Ormonde Jayne - opening is very nice, delicate spiciness. dries down a bit odd. Got a headache shortly after applying, usually I don't get headaches from frags. hmmm. If someone could capture the opening of this, and make it last, say 4 hours, this would be fantastic.

Adolfo Dominguez Vetiver Hombre : Real sweet number. Fresh, slightly soapy, slight white flora. Smelss real natural. Haha I picked up a 60ml - wee cute little bottle
Azzaro PH Eau: Azzaro Lite! Slight reminsicent of RG
Can understand the lack of both availability and interest. Lost interest fast in this one ..

Rituals Sultan de Muscat: Got this after getting a soft spot for it a while ago. Then it was discontinued. Natural thumping leather & patch - rustic - 'homemade' someone describe it as. Strangely now - doesn't smell like how I remember it - reminded me of a more crude Yatagan.

TF Neroli Portofino Forte - love it!! Wish it were a little more masculine and wish the orange notes were a bit stronger than the floral notes.

A slightly more masculine-leaning take on this DNA is Banana Republic Neroli Woods, which puts neroli over a darker, Tom Ford-linade woody base, so the floral element is reduced. Smells like a higher-quality release. Longevity is modest (5 hrs or less), but it's affordable enough you can spray generously.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check that out. Do you have an opinion on Zegna Mediterranean Neroli?

amouage figment - just smells like florals to me. I don't smell any notes that smell like soil. Sent me into a sneezing fit. Still smells nice and flowery to me

got an official mini of vintage Jil Sander Feeling Man. It's...........ok. I get a general barbershop vibe with juniper, although I don't see juniper listed in the notes. The drydown has a nice tobacco, but I'm not in love with it. Crazy a vintage bottle of it is going for $450 on eBay right now.

If you're looking for a masculine neroli in the contemporary luxe-niche style (rather than something more classic, like Nicolaï Cologne Sologne), the Zegna will do you better than just about anything else out there. I do prefer it to the TF options, though it's a bit different in style overall despite being neroli-based (darker and louder).

The Zegna is more nuanced than Neroli Woods, which is kinda/sorta like the Zegna in overall aesthetic, but not as robust. Whether or not it's as much of an improvement on Neroli Woods as the price difference indicates, I leave to your judgement.

Yes indeed. I generally don't like aquatics, feather-weight perfumes, artificial smelling fruity perfumes etc.

I gave the bottle to a friend who has a cute young nephew. He will surely enjoy it.

castile by penhaligons - after having read so much praise by 'the individual white man' i couldnt resist any longer and had to try it. was afraid it would be very soapy which it is but it isnt as much as i feared and it has other stuff going on in it as well. very nice clean, fresh, citrusy scent. its an edt so after an initial quite good projection it quite quickly fades to a skin scent. shame as it really does smell nice. the sprayer gushes the perfume out like someone turned a hose on. have to give it a few more wearings but i feel due to the lack of projection it probably be in the 'dumb reach' category for me.

Agree on this one, it's alright but definitely not bottle worthy.

Sampling Carner Rose & Dragon for the 2nd time today. Very soft, almost gourmand rose with a lot of fruit. Slightly off-putting castoreum in the opening & based on my first impressions, the performance (although expected from such a soft, light fragrance), doesn't match the price tag.

Tom Ford Oud Wood - borderline unpleasant to my unsophisticated nose. A bit like Lalique Encre Noir maybe.

    I love Oud Wood!
I tried CK Everyone tonight. It's a decent spring/summer scent. Nothing memorable but ok. Once it gets to discounters for 20 bucks, it's a good buy.

It would appear that a lot of people share this opinion, as Lonesome Rider was discontinued some time ago.
