Tell her she's a cheap date...
Thread: Allure homme sport
So earlier today i asked this girl to smell AHS and she said she likes axe (lynx) better then AHS how should i have responded to her
Tell her she's a cheap date...
Really nothing you can say. We Basenoters tend to think our level of appreciation for scents is somehow matched by the general public, and that the average person's nose should pick up on things the same way ours does. It's just not the case. It is with everything else when it comes to our culture. You can't get a person who is conditioned to eating fast food all the time to appreciate a well-cooked meal with quality ingredients. They will immediately reference (and most of the time, prefer) what they are already used to. Just don't take it personally.
Just remember... you wear fragrances for you. People who think Axe smells like and/or
better than a great designer frag obviously don't have much taste or much of a nose.
As long as you love it... they can take a flying leap.
AHS is a great fragrance and I'm happy to own and wear it.
It's one of the few that I get complimented on... by women...
Not surprised at all that a lot of women like Axe scents. They are created to be appealing. And they probably spent a great deal of money doing market research and tests before releasing them to the market.

Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticize the content of a post - criticizing the poster is not.
Mean spirited, nasty, snide, sarcastic, hateful, and rude individuals on Basenotes don't warrant or deserve other individuals' acknowledgement or respect.
Fragrance tastes are highly subjective and, also, not all Axe/Lynx fragrances are actually bad (if they were only released with better longevity, in a different concentration etc., even in their case, certain discontinued ones could pass for decently good standalone fragrances).
Ultimately, in terms of fragrances tastes, there are hardly any right ow wrong answers, just highly individual opinions that make this hobby so uniquely intense, diverse, fascinating and rewarding.

Should have asked her to smell them both together.
She might think differently then. Also, should ask her to smell both a few hours later.
The AHS will still be going strong, and the AXE crap will be gone. See what she thinks about them then
AHS is a classic. I've literally lost count of how many compliments I've gotten on it.
It's worth every penny and more. This girl is an outlier. Women love this stuff, trust me.
Was she kind of young? Sounds like something a younger girl would like.
