    Default Commodity

Has anyone tried this fragrance house? It's fairly new, started in 2013 through a kickstarter campaign. Sephora has started to sell their fragrances, and they seem reasonably priced. However, can;t find many reviews on their fragrances. Their one from the line called Whiskey. I'm very curious to try it, if it's anything like Pure Malt.

Never tried any but the names of their fragrances are very interesting.

I smelled them all for the first time at Sephora last week. Quickly sniffing each on paper, none seemed bad, including Whiskey. The standout for me, though, was Book.

There's a first impressions video on youtube by Dollars & Scents on commodity. I think he said he got a discovery set with all ten fragrances for $10.
I came here to talk fragrances & chew bubblegum.. and i'm all out of bubblegum.

Tried Book and Whisky in Sephora once. I was grossed out by both.

I have really enjoyed getting to know this house.

Unlike another poster, I really enjoy Book. It has a high concentration of vetiver, and a very good quality at that. It has a sedating effect on me, which informs me the vetiver is both real and high quality.

I have Book and Moss in large bottles, and several others in the smaller "pen" sized sprays. I rarely test on paper, so my experience has been mainly on my skin. I also buy blind, so there's that...

I sniffed Book briefly on paper and thought it harmless and pleasant, but nothing to go out of the way to find. Moss also was tried on paper, and disappointed... In short, it wasn't mossy enough, missing the expected oakmoss in any significant measure.

Whiskey was sprayed on skin for a full test, and I rather liked it. It featured a strong woody accord that conjured up whiskey casks. A rather simplistic composition, but still well-done, IMO.
