    Default Must-have discontinued Fragrances

    Good day Fumeheads,
Need your earnest suggestions on what would by the perfect discontinued scores. I know a shop in my country that has quite a bit of discontinued fragrances and vintage formulations at normal price (the shop owner has no idea how some of them are most sought after). I recently scored myself a 2005 Dior Homme batch 5F03, I have vintage A*Men also scored from the same source.

    Regards,

    Tim.

Since you've stated discontinued fragrances (which leaves out Kouros and Antaeus above), the usual ones mentioned are

    Gucci pour Homme
    Cuiron pour Homme
    Ungaro pour L'Homme II
    Balenciaga pour Homme
    M7/M7 Fresh
    Yohji Homme

I'll stick to a few that although discontinued, haven't been off the market for too long, so there's still half a chance of finding them in shops that have old stock:

    Cristobal Balenciaga Pour Homme
    Davidoff Relax
    Ralph Lauren Polo Modern Reserve
    Aramis Classic Reserve

Davidoff (original, Relax, Zino, Good Life)
    Hermes (Bel Ami, Rocabar)
    Gucci (PH I, original, Nobile)
    Givenchy (Xeryus, Insense)
    Paco Rabanne (Tenere)

Some of them aren't discontinued, but they are reformulated, which is the same thing since you don't get the juice you were once used to.

To the OP - are u planning to buy & sell? If yes, Patou Pour Homme & its Privee version, Lancome Balafre Monsieur / Vert / Brun, Basala / Basara, any vintage Guerlain in PdT, pure parfum or extrait format, YSL M7, Chanel Egoiste Concentree, D&G By Man will be what I'd look for.

If it's for your use, then I'd leave the ones mentioned top (assuming prices will be high, but not sky high like eBay) & instead settle for everything else in the store that's vintage. I'd rather buy 10 bottles of lesser priced vintages that spend all that on one bottle...

Aren't the reasons a fragrance was discontinued:

    1. Poor seller
    2. Not a great fragrance
    3. Formula HAD to be changed by some new law

True, contrary to popular belief, fragrance companies are in it to make money.

Where are these "shops" that you gentlemen frequently refer to?
Back in the day I remember buying cologne at department stores.
6 years ago bought original versions at a huge Christmas discount
show. The only other place i've bought scents since has been online (ebay mainly)
    and TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall's).

Where else should I be looking?
