Thanks for your kind words. I had few more things on EC written down somewhere, but I can't find them! I will probably share my Dewaniya notes next - hopefully soon. Problem is, most SPAs are just too complicated. He (and few more perfumers, but mostly Sultan) have 'ruined' my nose. ... can't have enough of them.

Look forward to your further thoughts. I am wearing Thebes 2 today.

    He writes
Thebes is dedicated to a very old, discontinued composition I smelt in Paris at a certain famous establishment. It was so evocative that it was the only time a perfume brought me close to tears. As a result, I toiled for many months and many late nights to recreate it as I wanted it to be my signature perfume. And here it is... Thebes.

    What is he talking about?

Got my first 2 SPs....Fougere noir and encens chypre and very quickly realised that this is Nirvana in a small bottle....now I can't get enough and would surely order full 3mls of these ( I got 1g each ) ....I am surprised about... how much Fougere changes from dark foresty viscous oily feel ( reminds me of green Irish Tweed by creed ) in the opening to a sweet citrusy dry down which was totally unexpected ....master class in action !

Out of all the hits from his range, this one along with le rayon vert are my favorites. I hope he eventually starts to bring out spray versions.

I have a portable lifestyle so I like attars much more. And they don’t have the alcohol which doesn’t really smell good.

I can take a bunch of attars with me so easily compared to bottles of spray. I do love perfumes also of course.

Have you ever diluted attars with perfumers alcohol into little spray bottles? I’ve tried it with musk rose attar and Sultan Leather. It’s interesting. The musk rose worked fairly well but I do like the thicker, more tenacious version that comes with pulse-point attar application. As with edp v extrait, I assume it’s a case by case thing as to whether it improves the scent or diminishes it. Maybe worth trying!

It's a interesting idea and good if you can pull it off. But it is a expensive way to experiment when your most likely going to unbalance and ruin how the scent performs. Maybe a worthy experiment with a sample but I just don't have the interest to go all "mad scientist" on my samples.

Been wearing a few good swipes of Equilibre today on a hot and muggy day in NYC, out on the town with my family. My goodness I just love it. It’s still quietly humming away 8.5 hrs later with a spicy ambergris, Hindi, and sandalwood warmth. I love it so much.

For sure, could easily ruin a $$$ of attar. I only do it when I’ve gotten to the VERY end of a bottle or vial that I can’t seem to extract any more from. Perfumer’s alcohol is pretty cheap on amazon and a few other places and is basically the same as the stuff that takes an extrait to edp to edt(some have different levels of things like ethanol and Isopropyl myristate, depending on what the naturals are like in the composition).

He'll be making it as soon as his workload allows him (fingers crossed). He's been quite busy. SPA is a one man operation - from buying everything to sending items to his customers. I LOVE EC!

I’m wearing Irisoir on my shirt. This has always struck me as a subtle fragrance. Maybe a little too quiet.

I agree it is indeed one of Sultan’s quieter ‘more intimate’ attars.
