Default Your 6 fragrances for life

    Hi everyone,

I have a relatively large fragrance collection. Mostly designer but some niche. But I was thinking, if I was told I could only have 6 for the rest of my life, what would they be. They would have to cover every season and occasion. Here is my list, it would be great to see others from the community.

    1) Chanel Allure Home Sport - Spring and Summer, day.
    2) Tom Ford Neroli Portofino - Summer Day (Although Creeds VIW was very close to taking this spot)
    3) Boss Bottled - Spring, Summer and Autumn days.
    4) Creed Aventus - Any season, day or night
    5) Burberry London - Autumn and Winter days.
    6) YSL La Nuit - Autumn and Winter day but mainly night.

I just feel this gives the perfect balance. If anyone asked for my advice, new to fragrances, wanting a few fragrances to cover all occasions, thats them.

To go into small amount of detail on each one:

-AHS, is it the best sports fragrance on the market? Maybe. It certainly gets lots of compliments and is a people pleaser. A citrus aromatic. A really solid fragrance.
-NP, doesn't get the love it deserves in the community. A citrus floral. I think the cost is the reason this isn't more popular. Beautiful bottle, and again it gets compliments
-Boss Bottled, the swiss army knife of the collection. Can almost always be worn. Doesn't smell at all like a boss fragrance. Very inoffensive and likeable.
-Aventus, I won't go into detail, we all know about this one. IMO the best fragrance I have ever owned. Versatile like bottled except a class above.
-London, deserves more credit. Niche quality at a cheap price. Pine tree sap, Cinnamon, nutmeg, port.... absolutely stunning combination.
-La Nuit, when going out I wear this, it gets attention and is liked by most people. Personally prefer it to DHI. Reminds me of an apple pie with coco powder on the top.

    I like that list

VIW is one of my favourites, and like I said could easily take NP place. GIT is a classic. And jubilation XXV is fantastic, I find its purpose is similar to London. I personally prefer london, but Jubi is fantastic.

Lyric, Jardin D'Amalfi and Nio I am yet to try. They are top on my list though haha

Some great replies guys. I have tried Creed Royal Oud a few times. I will be 100% honest, I was never that mad on it. I can appreciate it, but I can't say it got me compliments. I twice got told it smelt like cigarette butts.

I generally wear fragrances for two reasons, not only because I like them, but because the people around me do to... I can't say RO delivers that.

Be good to know your opinions on this one.

I imagine the reply everyone will provide is "I wear my scent for me, not others".

That being said, I find Royal Oud to smell very nice, as has everyone that's smelled it on me or sampled from my bottle. I'm in my lower 30's, so that's the age group of the opinions I've encountered more often than not. Not quite sure where cigarette butts come from, but you smell what you smell. It's a VERY woody, cedarish fragrance.

My opinion? Unload the bad juice and get some good stuff.

Try some Chanel and Dior for crowd pleasers, especially Chanel, or Dior Homme Intense.

    .
There's a bit of an odd "you should only wear for you", anti-social ethic that runs through BN, but you should ignore it ... it's normal healthy behavior to not want to be unpleasant to those around you and to care that they like your fragrance. Don't give it a 2nd thought.

    Some nice choices there.

For life, I take unto thee, and all that?

    Alright.

    1. Chanel Platinum Egoiste - It's like a good aftershave.

    2. Dior Homme Intense - It has nice development, and I like sweet scents.

    3. Chanel Coromandel - It's such a powerhouse. It's undeniable. It's a sweet beast.

    4. Dior Fahrenheit - Longest track record!

    5. Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme - Tonka par Chanel!

    6. Chanel Antaeus - Something bad ass.
