I try to remain fair and balanced with my reviews, crushing stuff as much as im neutral and praise. I'm a tough reviewer, someone that grades from bottom-up not top-down.
Thanks for watching. I should have my dissertation on Egoiste ready sometime in the next couple of weeks, that will be a long video for a change.

mrzayas81 does a fantastic job. I enjoy his reviews very much, though he sure does love adjectives! Everything is beautiful quality magnificent amazing superb stupendous etc. This video of his cracks me up. The expressions on his face as his wife picks Versace over niche and shoots down Aventus makes me laugh. But I mean no disrespect. His reviews are excellent. I'd love to see him review his favorite designers. The video I linked to makes it clear he owns and wears some. I've enjoy seeing him review them.

I wish Katie Puckrik did more videos (and expanded them from 3 minutes to around 5 or 6 minutes). Her reviews are excellent.

    Greggieboy76 is very good too.

Oh, you're right! I enjoy his reviews, though his titles are terrible ("Maximilian Must Know Episode #43287423..." C'mon now, you're on youtube, not NBC).

Quote Originally Posted by Bangkok Hound View Post

His intros are terrible. I always skip over them. I skip past everybody's intros. In fact, for most reviewers, it takes them a minute or two - OR MORE! - to get to the frigging review, so I usually immediately skip 1/4 of the way into their videos... But, again, I really do enjoy Max's reviews.

He's not good on camera. He's constantly stumbling over his words because he tries too hard. That's the thing about youtube. Some people are naturals and some people just aren't. Jer, who used to be on the Fragrance Bros, could easily be a radio personality. He's good at talking to a camera or a microphone. Chad seems like a really nice guy, but he's too concerned about whether he's saying things right & it causes him to stumble a lot, which is a shame.

Yeah, I saw Dracdoc and thought his tastes were similar to mine as well. Very easy to listen to.

Katie's not reviewing? Hope she's still in the fragrance world somewhere. She was awesome!

Marc was one of the first people I watched - always liked his reviews. Fragrance Bros, too. I need to catch up big time - a lot of newer reviewers out there that I have no idea about.

Katie gets a little carried away trying to speak in overdone, vivid imagery while trying to look cute for the camera. But she's totally a nympho so I can overlook that.

I think Katie is still active on her blog. Writing, no videos though. Her videos were cute, but I never learned anything about the fragrances she reviewed.

I wish YouTube reviewers would brush up on their French. Their pronunciation is embarrassing. If you're going to talk about perfume, you should know how to pronounce a few common terms at least.

OH!!! Who was the guy who did youtube reviews but couldn't even pronounce Pour Homme? I remember him saying "Poor heewmay." Ouch. But that's still less annoying than the Robes08 guy. When he's not doing videos about scents he hasn't even smelled, he makes half hour long videos about nothing and he overpronounces anything French to the point of silliness. I had to unsubscribe.

Bad French is better than overdoing it to try to look smart.

Supposedly, French is his first language. Is Canadian French really that bad?

Tswetcoff, as well as the (currently retired, but hoping in their return- as it luckily happened over the years) Basenoters Le Grand Duc, Grottola and Forfreddie, all of whom have their Youtube channels, are a few, but not all of my personal favorites

Am I the "Poor Heewmay" guy? If I would have known how offensive that was, I would have chosen Poor Homey as my channel name. See if I could say "Hello guys... Poor Homey here" every week for 5 years with a straight face.

I only like dracdoc and redelessonce because I find their reviews to be easy to follow. I like redelessonce more since he has more depth and goes more into detail than doc. I haven't cared too much over other reviewers.

I like both of them too, though I don't subscribe to dracdoc. I like that they seem to be more interested in scents than hypes.

Ha! No, it wasn't you... but... the pronunciation for Pour Homme would be: pronounce Pour the way you'd pronounce the English word Pour, as in, to pour a glass of water. And Homme is pronounced like the word home, without the h (or, with very little emphasis on the h), or like you'd pronounce an Ohm, as in, the unit of electrical resistance.

Yes he is more into niche last year but desperate? No............
I am glad he is not still doing only reviews of eg. Sauvage and those kind of new releases. He has been there, done that and moves on..............aren't we all.

Kristo is definitely my favorite and one of the few that get the thumbs up before I even watch the video.

I do still watch/subscribe to quite a few reviewers, although I find some of their antics annoying and ridiculous. The second any reviewer mentions Beautyspin, they are dismissed.

Since my tastes have strongly shifted to more niche fragrances, I have been enjoying the likes of Redolessence, Maximilian Heusler, Fragrance Bros, Looking Feeling Smelling Great, and probably Betawi Blood as well. MyMickers, Max Forti, FragBoy Stewie, dracdoc, robes08, and FragranceView are all solid as well.

I'm just a sucker for fragrance related videos, honestly.

The only two reviewers that I subscribe to nowadays are Robes08 (most similar tastes to mine) and MrZayas (great top-20 lists)
Nothing wrong with the others out there but I started feeling like most of the recent stuff from guys like Redolessence and Dracdoc lost its relevance to me. I am just not interested in their content being that I am a niche snob these days
