    Default L'Homme Ideal Cologne

I will keep this short and sweet.
    Today I tried this.
If you thought L'Homme Ideal, (edt) was bad...I suggest you do not go near this, (although you have to go very close to smell anything at all....)

In a nutshell it's two wipes of "Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish" and twenty gallons of water.

    The epitome of nothingness...

Hahahah!! Love this pithy review. Well done!

I like L'Homme Ideal Cologne quite a bit, but can easily see how it wouldn't appeal to everyone. If your idea of a good time is going around smelling like cherry Pla-Doh, then jump right in. Personally, I find it highly entertaining. BN commentary at large suggests your mileage may vary subtantially.

I find it very silimar to the original, but with a more citrusy opening.

I have a sample of the original L'Homme Ideal and I am slowly starting to like it more and more. I'll keep trying it until I reach a conclusion one way or the other. Its certainly not terrible though.

Same with this one, I need to try it for myself.

It's neither terrible, but neither remotely terrific.

L'Homme Ideal: I really like it, love the almonds.

The cologne is discordant: a citric oriental on intention, it's like white and black without grey in the middle. Not my cup of tea.

Not at all similar? That's weird. I'm wearing it now. After the top notes wear off, it smells very similar to the original.

I will have to try it again. I did only try it once in a shop. First I sprayed 2 sprays on a test strip and could smell nothing at all. NOTHING !. Then I spraged 3 sprays on the skin and got something very watery, with a slight hint of that shoe polish/ furniture polish note that's in L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme.

Russian retailers. It hasn't been repacked into new boxes (the other 4 have been) and it has disappeared from the website.

Maybe that's the case just for Russia, but I doubt as the Cologne version was more popular than the regular one here.

So far, even if a bit in a minority on this thread, perhaps so far the personal favorite L'Homme Ideal flanker (and also from the entire fragrance range, including the first, the regular EDT release in it)- yet still not considering perfect either.
Must be slightly luckier due to skin chemistry and/or simply untrained/not perceptive towards any shoe polish note, however getting mainly a fair and correctly rendered yet not outstanding citrus-vetiver-wood not, oddly not very different from the TDH range (while not an overt carbon copy of TDH and certainly different enough to tell them apart, would still slightly prefer to own and use any TDH range fragrance over this one and this being the opinion of someone not very keen on TDH and its flankers either).

Anyone wanting to stock up should hit fragrancenet, as 50 ml bottles are under $19 on there.

Bought for a cheap summer citrus. It fills its niche well.

    Thank you.

I already have. I like this one. It's nice, and different than your average citrus/freshie.

I've read complaints of bad projection and longevity here and there.
Could there be a chance, that L'Homme Ideal Cologne was watered down at some point?

I've got batch 5W01 and it lasts 10 hours easily and has a very good projection. I can even smell it the next day on skin, if I don't wash it off.

Oh man, 10 hrs... no. Not remotely close. Must have been watered down. Bought mine about a month ago via fragnet.

I had the Sport flanker, too and that one was much weaker in comparison to the Cologne.

That's unaccurate. It still appears on several Guerlain international websites (US, Canada, Italy, Spain, and several others). They just stopped distributing it in some countries (Russia, UK and even France...) for a reason I ignore (my guess would be because of lower than expected sales, in order not to cannibalize the new Ideal Cool).
