    Very good list.

As usual, it's a matter of taste. In Amouage, I'm not a fan of Reflection, Honour, and Beloved (and have not tried Sunshine) and would rather add the powerful Interlude.

In Montale, the more famous leather is probably Oud Cuir d'Arabie, which is dirty and musky (Aoud leather is sharper and cleaner).

I wasn't blown by 40 knots, given the cost especially.

    Hi, cacio!

I already know Interlude. Personally, not a fan!

    Amouage

Journey Man - nothing special. smelled like a rehash of Epic, Memoir and Interlude based on initial sampling
    Epic Man - absolutely epic!
Dia Man - smells very good, but only for 30 min. extremely poor performance.

    Parfums de Marly

Oajan - smells rather good, though not very unique or extraordinary.

Just some quick thoughts. Haven't tried the others.

Luke warm on most of the ones you listed--you are shopping at the high end of the spectrum so I don't blame you for wanting to get it right. I am not impressed with Amouage for a whole bunch of reasons (and do not wear any of them), would consider the Marleys and agree that of the Goodsirs, Bois d'Ascese is great as well as Cuir Velours. Aqua Vitae is VERY good, but the Xerjoffs I would give a miss--by a wide margin. Good luck and may the fragrance be with you.

    Ormonde Man

    Thoughts?

    Thank you!

I personally prefer Ormonde woman to man. Both share an aromatic green coniferous note, but man seems a bit too standard woody-ambery masculine (though extremely well done). Woman feels richer. But them I'm not a fan of modern masculines in general.

Amouage Epic Man - a Nice spicy cologne that sort of reminds me of Opium pour Homme edp.

Xerjoff Fars - Sort of like Tom Ford Noir de Noir somehow, but I like Fars more.

JTC by Xerjoff 40 Knots - It reminds me of YSL La Nuit de L'Homme.

Parfums de Marly Herod - A sweet, refined tobacco fragrance. A nice effort.

I did not care for any of the Parfums de Marly. Very overrated house, IMO.

The ones on your list I would definitely recommend are Liquidnight by A Lab on Fire and 40 Knots by Xerjoff. Both smell absolutely fantastic, are not controversial scents, and have excellent longevity and projection.

Liquidnight is a very underrated scent, IMO, and is well worth the money.

If you decide to buy either of these, try to get them from the German online fragrance sites for significant savings, especially on the Xerjoff.
