Default Help Needed with Caron Pour un Homme

    Hello!

Can anyone give some suggestion as to which version of it should one go for?

Apart from the current version I see another one with a black cap (and different box?) -

Then, there's another one in a 100 ml size -

I think it's a good idea to go with the latest version (not shown here) because

    1) I'm not aware of any significant reformulation of this juice.
    2) I'm concerned about the freshness of the opening (particularly the lavender) in the earlier versions/bottles.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks!

To me all Caron refurmolatins are not bad, but if I can get the second bottle will go with it.

I am not up-to-date with all reformulations, and it's changes on numerous brands. I remember having smelled the older Pour un Homme.. But Caron, I wouldn't even call reformulations - just updates in a sense (packaging/bottles)...

The current one is quite pleasant, and the lavender is still as significant. I wouldn't bother going for vintage in my opinion (please don't bash me vintage addicts)

I would personally go for the current version just for the reason of freshness. I've tried older bottles where the lavender top notes had deteriorated and I didn't like that. Also, if you're aware of the civet powderiness in it and worry about it being "cleaned" and modernized, no worries it's still there and quite perceptible--at least to me. Just my opinion.

So far this has survived Caron's disfiguring of female perfumes and is still as good as it gets. So there's no need really to go vintage, for now at least.

I think the current formulation is just fine. I've also smelled some vintage that lost its edge. Also, if you haven't tried Jicky, it's along the same lines and very nice.

This is the one I own and it's just wonderful. Not sure how it compares with what's out there now.

Im not sure of any reformulations and also not sure if older/newer versions actually have any banned ingredients to "force" it to reformulation.

As mentioned, i would go for a newer version to avoid the top notes being off.

If you can afford a little more money, search for the "Millesime 2014" version that it the same great scent but a more intense version.

Only know the first version from the first picture and it smelled wonderfully, but sadly no idea how it compares with or even depicts the current formulation- but if you can ever get the first one pictured, it will definitely be a good choice (and according to several replies, also the second one, although so far only knowing and enjoying the first)

I once bought a half a bottle like the one in your second photo and it had gone off. All it smelled like was watered down alcohol. :/
I replaced it with the current formulation and couldn't be happier.
It's the only old/used bottle I've ever bought that was bad.
