    Default Official Dior Sauvage Poll

Seems like there's a lot of mixed opinions about this, so lets get the numbers.

I dislike all the separate threads. Anyway, a poll already? Most people haven't had a chance to try it yet and who cares how popular it is. It should have no impact on whether you like it.
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

To my nose is ok as it doesn't inspire me to do cartwheels.

As a fragrance collector I blind bought this in boots as they had 10% off on my boots advantage card. Dior is my favourite designer house and this to me is their safest release to date, it smells OK and a good introduction to the mass market. For those into fragrance then it will be a disappointment but that's because we expect more from Dior. I wore it whilst doing my gardening and it lasted about 5-6hrs, it's Diors attempt at having a Bleu de Chanel mass appeal fragrance

I tried to keep my expectations neutral and objectively, but when I sampled it I was utterly disappointed. It may be a crowd-please and will sell very well but it is generic, boring, synthetic and simply underwhelming. (IMO)

Just ok, the smell is fine if not generic, but I only get about four hours and its mostly a skin scent.

    Expected that.

I'd like to know how it is like compared to BdC.

I always refered to templates guiding noses behind blending: fleeting EdC's from the 1800's, the leathers from the 1930's and 1940's are all very similar, so are the spicy ones from the late 1960s / early 1970's; remember the powerbombs from the 1980s and the "PE model" and alike from the early 1990's, later on the acquatics from the early and late 1990's, the gourmands from the 1990's and 2000's and from the early 2000's on, the spicy stuff a la Guerlain L'Homme. BdC and DS being like PE and BdC comes to no surprise.

OK, I am prejudging based on comments. Eager to try it, though. I really like BdC, Bvlgari Man and Guerlain L'Homme Intense (Guerlain's being the best, IMHO).

Well this poll is for people whom have smelt it. I don't care if its popular or not. I for one will certainly not buy it as I don't think it's smell that great.

Consider including "Haven't smelled it yet" as a voting option next time if you'd like more thorough/meaningful results.

Tried this the other day , found it very generic , bland and safe . Came away with an impression of minty vetiver , fresh clean , think lavender gives the mint note . It will sell well because the brand style and adverts are great , as unimpressive as when Chanel launched Blueeergh...

I'm on the fence between "dislike" and "ok."

Trying to be fair, I've been saying "ok," but when I saw this poll, I clicked dislike; the feeling of disappointment with this new Dior having overtaken me for a moment.

I think it has a slight dose of an ingredient also in YSL La Nuit de L'Homme and Armani Code Ultimate, and I've been swearing off that ingredient recently; and that association is lowering my opinion from neutral to neutral/dislike.

I also get some Platinum Egoiste in the very top, and a similar feel to Bleu de Chanel at times; but the closest fragrance I've worn to this is Burberry Brit Rhythm for Men, which I liked more than Sauvage.

More and more since I've worn it, I've been lamenting the state of the current perfume market.

Sniffed & sampled on skin yesterday. It's "okay." Smells "nice" but not exciting or unique compared to 90% of the other designer stuff in the men's section at Nordstrom. I don't dislike it. If I owned it I'd probably wear it occasionally, but ultimately I don't find it FBW at the price. My "OK" vote is based solely on scent and has nothing to do with this being a mediocre release from a house of good repute. Dior fans may be disappointed but I don't begrudge anyone for attempting to keep money flowing by appealing to the masses.

Coworker: What are you smellin' like today? I really like it!

Me: Oh, um.. It's Dior Sauvage. Can you smell it?

Coworker: Yes. It smells really, really good. It's definitely the best one I've smelled on you so far.

Me: Really? Oh, wow.. Thank you. I'm glad you think so 😀

Generic or not.. Dior Sauvage definitely wins in the compliment category! 😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍
