    Default Dunhill custom

Just got my package in the mail today of multiple blind buys and decided to give Dunhill custom a try first because the notes seemed interesting. The fragrance smells like a fall themed craft store with potpourri and a apple pie in the background....this may be the ultimate fragrance interpretation of fall in the northeast between October and thanksgiving that I have ever smelled...the notes seemed to be done with restraint as well because it did not give me the standard headache induced from a fall themed craft store with the potpourri/scented candle/cinnamon broom....not gourmand though because it is more of an abstract take on all of the notes. Best of all this was pretty cheap at $17 for a full sized bottle.....can't see myself wearing this in any other season than fall or early winter..definitely a fragrance that makes you picture a setting/season/time...

    Thanks for sharing your impressions.

I haven't tried this one, but am more keen to try Dunhill Icon.

I happen to own this one and and it's a very nice spicy and woody scent. OP - you describe it quite well!

wore it again today and still enjoy it..easily this could be a high quality niche fragrance....probably the best fragrance i have smelled in a few months in this class

For me it's a toned down Gucci Pour Homme 1, but with no syrupy/ambery quality though with the apple note added. I would not consider this "niche quality," though. It's a bit two dimensional and lacks the depth I'd want to think of it as niche.

Smells like Baldessarini Ambre, but with even worse longevity. Pathetic.

I don't remember the longevity of BA but Custom has excellent longevity, it's just not very strong after a couple hours or whatever. I sprayed it on around noon one day and woke up in the early morning hours the next day and still smelled it (and I wasn't sleeping in those clothes - it was emanating from where I sprayed it, the chest). The drydown is what I was referring to as a bit two dimensional and lacking the depth of "higher quality" scents.

A nice apple scent with a smokey ambery backbone. Unfortunately it's a very weak performer.

That's fun - that's precisely "(majority of) niche quality" for me.

Well those aren't the kinds of niche scents I own, that's for sure (unless I get stuck with one from a blind swap). LOL.

I have it and whilst it smells nice it is one of the worst performing scenes I own. Terrible longevity and projection, sadly.
