    Eau de Parfum
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. I don't own any Lutens fragrances anymore. I used to own Chergui, but found I never really wore it that often. Today I'm wearing Phoenicia Perfumes RealOud.

No Lutens here, either. My failure to get along with this house left me very disappointed in myself. I think a lot of us have felt this way at times-that there must be something wrong with our noses when we don't fall for one of the great scents/houses. I tried many, many Lutens. Found none that I had to buy. I do have three favorites however. I would definitely not turn away FBs of Tubereuse Criminelle (my very favorite Lutens I tried) or Fourreau Noir. And I went through a large decant of Chergui, even though it was not very "me". A really special scent.

So, I'm a sort of twin with Xscent in No.5 EDT. Yes ma'am, Five for Friday! Have gotten terribly behind on my BN reading this week. Hoping for time later today for cocktails and fragrant reading. Hope you all have a great day!

    Good afternoon all !. Xscent / teardrop, I couldn't agree more ...

Numerous options available for today's synch but decided to go with the best (IMHO) of them all.

PerfumedLady - Was this Iris Silver Missed for you ?. I imagine most of us have certain houses that just don't appeal - Dior has always been the biggest let-down for me.
Will be joining you with more fragrant reading later and a glass (or two) of NZ Pinot Noir revealing my allegiance for tomorrow's Rugby World Cup semi-final.

In sync with Serge Lutens Daim Blond. One of many Lutens' in my wardrobe, I'm a big fan. But I hear you PerfumedLady, with a couple of notable exceptions, I myself have historic trouble with the house of Guerlain, which trust me, makes me feel like a troglodyte. My (current) Lutens favorites are Chergui and Encens et Lavande (which I can't wear to work as the Prez. of our organization hates lavender). That said, I adore how DB manages to evoke suede along with the apricots without a specific suede note being present.

    FANTASTIC Friday, everyone!

Daim Blond notes: Iris Pallida, apricot kernel, cardamom from Ceylon, musk, heliotrope, hawthorn.

I might put on some Tubereuse Criminelle later today but I wanted to play with my Vero Profumo samples some more, so right now I am wearing Mito voile d'extrait. I mentioned yesterday not liking it very much, but I do like it more with a bigger application. But I don't like it as much as the perfumes I read comparisons to (like Cristalle). I think Rubj edp is the only one I feel has a place in my collection so far (thank goodness!! I'm not made of money).

Oh, I forgot about Sarrasins! I did really enjoy that one, too. You smell beautiful, foxbins!

I'm so glad you asked about ISM, Jon. Would have mentioned it in my first post had I remembered. The answer is yes and no, lol. For my own wear, I just prefer my iris on the powdery, make-upy side as opposed to the more cool, earthy, ethereal types. I can do carrot-y iris at times. I sampled ISM very early in my iris exploration and at that time, bought 28 La Pausa instead. However, I always recommend Iris Silver Mist when I'm hit up for iris recommendations. I have urged several here to try this one and 28 La Pausa as a starting point to help recognize quality iris used well in a composition. May have to add Xerjoff's Irisss to that pair for future recs. Once we know these, it is easy to distinguish between excellent iris and crap (non) iris in some less expensive scents. So even though it's not an iris I need to buy, ISM is most definitely a reference iris for me. It is amazing! And BTW, I have the same problem with Dior. Mr. PL gets on with them great and I enjoy his Diors on him. But I can't seem to find one for me, either.

ComDiva, you are certainly no troglodyte! Nice to know you've had this experience too. I'm not saying I find SL scents bad in any way; on the contrary. I guess you know what I mean when I say I so wanted to click with this house!

Still in No.5, just had a whopping respritz! Because I can. Home alone cleaning our (many) windows for winter. More perfume is the only thing I could think of to make this job semi pleasant!
