Default Treasures from a good friends mum

My dear friend had her mother pass away recently. Rather than throw her mums precious things away, she bought me this box last night. I shall show pics as I unravel. There are some fantastic old bottles in here. Lots of wonderful lavenders of the old English kind. Bless her mum. I hope she's watching me with pleasure.

    Left to right
Lily of the Valley by Woods of Windsor
Old Cottage Lavender by Grossmith London
Violette by Florineige (don't know this maker)
Devon Violets by Lounds Pateman ltd (I haven't seen this bottle shape before)
Violet oil for the hair by Yardley
Eau de Toilette (deep purple and smells lavenderishy violetty) by ? Slightly torn bit in brackets so guessing it says (Lav)andin de Grignan.
    Freesia cologne by Yardley

Blue dip bottle. Slight oily residue. Doesn't smell anymore of much.
Another Devon Violets but gone dark brown. Shows these have all been on a table top in the light.
    English Lavender by Yardley
Bardaco solid perfume from Greece. Dipper and smells very floral musky.
'Somewhere' compact solid perfume by Avon
    Gold medal edc by Atkinsons

What a lovely collection mumsy. I think that the seahorse bottle is Sea Jade by Yardley?

I looked and found Sea Jade in a mermaid shape

It isn't Avon because that seemed to have a better shape from what I could find

Here is a better pic of this one.... It smells as bad as seaweed....and has separated so I expect it was green.

    ...... And you're bang on.....

What a thoughtful and kind gesture, and some really fascinating looking bottles!

Most looked very turned but the boxed ones seem the right colour. I'm currently wearing 'bubblegum' so not the time to smell much else.

They are aren't they? I adore the really ancient ones and Violet for gentlemen dandies was an old mission of mine that may get renewed as a result of these. BTW, Just as you're here. I have an older bottle of Sagamore if you'd like all or some of it. I saw you posted elsewhere. PM or email me if you do.

That's very thoughtful of you Mumsy, thank you, but I'm fine with what I have.

Oh, mumsy, what a treasure trove this is! Just marvelous. Your friend knew just where to bring this collection to honor her mother.

What a great collection of fragrances and bottles. ..and so very touching that your friend left them with you to look after. :-)
It is true that fish stink. It is also true that the river is
beautiful. But the river would be beautiful despite the fish. What
    is noxious remains so.

That is not to say that sh*t is not useful when buried in the wheat
field. Bread made from the field tastes sweet, wine from the arbor
sweetest. All things serve a purpose, but that is no reason to
glorify what is abominable. A man must still watch where he walks
    and keep his sandals clean.
