Default Half-full Rive Gauche (Vintage bottle) ?

    Hi,

For those of you that have Rive Gauche Pour Homme (Vintage, long aluminium bottle), did your bottle feel like it was like 2/3 full?
Because it feels like the bottle is not filled up, when you shake it it feels airy and like it's missing some juice.

Bottle is new, 125 ml if that makes any difference.

    Thanks.

Yeah they aren't filled all the way up. That combined with the low weight really threw me off at first, but it's perfectly normal.

I know exactly what you mean as I have the tin can version and it's just a illusion. We are so used picking up glass bottles and feeling the weight before spraying that the tin can vintage Rive Gauche just feels too light. I still have at least a 100ml and probably more left but you would never know just going by the weight in your hands.

    Thanks for the answers.
The thing is that I can understand that it feels light when you grab it, just like the Montale bottles.

But the thing that bothers me is that the bottle is not filled upp properly, only like 2/3. But if that's normal then I got nothing to worry about.

I don't own any Montales, but the Rive Gauche tin can version is by far one of the easiest to take on holiday with you. No leaking bottles, great sprayer and full or not, they are much lighter than glass bottles!

It's a shame they don't make them like this anymore. A perfectly all-round superb fragrance.

Try putting it on a paper weight and see how much it weighs. If it's around 140g or so, then you're golden. I believe it's 135-140g that is the exact amount it should weigh.

I thought the same thing Zycore. I think its just what the other members are saying. The tin can, and 2/3 full makes it seem like its on its last leg. I have been my using my big can for after haircuts, and for others after I cut their hair. Its been over 2 years and it almost feels the same as it did when I got it.

My bottle feels quite light also.

I was freaked out when I first got my tin can of Rive Gauche Pour Homme. I thought even if it was empty it would still feel light for an empty bottle.

Yep.. I was really freaked out when I got my Black Aoud as it wasn't sealed from the shop.. I feared they'd tried to siphon some of it, but fortunately it was all in order.

The fact that you can unscrew the sprayers really doesn't help either in that case.

I own two bottles, and they both feel this way. I owned a bottle of Montale full incense, and it also felt half empty.

Always had the feeling myself that my own "tin can" Rive Gauche bottle was very light in the first place and is starting to get increasingly lighter, as the fragrance use gradually progresses

Have you guys experienced the silver cover surrounding the atomizer coming off of the rest of the can/bottle?

    Just wanted to add:
I bought the "tin can" version new and have sprayed it maybe 20 times, and it now weighs 140g according to my scale.

Not for me. I am on my 3rd and 4th bottle having used 125ml and 75ml bottles in the past and never experienced that before.
