18G02 is a banger imo a real banger. And I Haven't felt that way with Aventus in a long time. But to each his own. The Beautiful Vanilla with some smoke around it like 13Z01 was deadly good. But it hasn't been replicated, or recreated yet. One can dream
I love 18G02 although I haven't worn it in a month. I going to give it a try tomorrow and smell for myself the changes you are talking about. In my opinion 18G02 was released in very limited quantity. Wow I can't wait to put some on tomorrow. Recently been wearing 19P01 and 18K01 but I;m going to let them rest for a while and start wearing 18G02 again.

oh yeah and creed being creed if you can find a box for 18G01 more often than not there's a G02 bottle inside
I know exactly what you're talking about...I got my 18G02 bottle in an 18G01 box, but I had advance knowledge of that from the seller about the mix up.

Speaking of indirect smokiness, the amped up oakmoss in 16M01 is absolutely fantastic. I think this is why people refer to it is Manventus. 19P11 is epic so far. I'm glad Creed is making the pineapple take center stage again. I feel like just about all the 18's were either fruity or apple-ish, but none were pineapple-centric the way so many 17's were.

K11 is coming along really well, much stronger than at launch. not quite as in your face as G11 but it does have a more prominent apple note. both excellent tangy, fruity batches

I love oakmoss. Looking back on this thread and scrolling down the comments, I read here that the 18G11 is citrusy and doesn’t last. I would like to hear more about the 18GO2 because I’m confused.

Are there any 2019 batches I should prioritize? I'm thinking of dumping my older 15 batches and just picking up something light

    also hi it's been awhile

The 19's I sniffed so far (19P01/19P11) all seem lighter with less base though they may develop over time. Certainly, lighter to my nose than when I purchased 17's at around the same time. For my money, I really like 19P11.

I specifically want a prominent pineapple fruit note, though that is not to say I’m looking for a light and sunny pineapple fruit juice of a frag. I would love to have the pineapple over a dank base. No dominant apple, berries or that slightly creamy, vanilla-laced dry-down. I don’t want the birch-y barbecue ashes of a grill man holding a spatula either. I’m sure there is a tweaked batch in there somewhere for me. I won’t give up my search, but if I find I’m grasping at straws, I will just as easily pass and call it a day.

17S01. I guarantee that's what you're looking for. It's literally pineapple over a dank base with no apple, berry or vanilla. It's also probably my all-time favorite batch

+1 17S01 is the way to go in this case I can actually smell the vanille in this batch but it's not overpowering or a predominant note at all.

It's pineapple+patchouli+thick/dense ambergris accord to the fullest.

I’m having second thoughts because there is such a thing as too many random and different opinions floating about. The figures don’t add up. I will hold off on Aventus for now. Thanks.

Try to get a decant if possible. That’s what many here do before purchasing a bottle. Also check out the Aventus FB groups. Detailed batch info there as well...

No will do Facebook. No decant. Full bottle only. And that’s if I come across one in the batch I’m supposedly going to like. If I don’t, then so be it.

18G02 is the best post 16 batch that I've tried.
It has developed since I bought it in February into a more complex scent with pineapple, apple, cassis, birch, patchuli, oakmoss and vanila (something it lacked initialy), and now has a stronger dry down. I know that I just listed notes which should be in any Aventus, but only 18G02 collects them so prominent and well mixed for me.
The only downside I have with this one is olfactory fatigue which kicks after around a minute. Overall longevity is decent, but I think that my 17T01 lasted a bit longer.

As for the smoke, I've never tried pre 13ZZ01 batches so it's hard for me to judge but I doubt it's even close to those levels of smoke, based on people's descriptions. Without knowing all this topic I would probably call 18G02 smoky but not as in your face feature of the scent. I'd say that matured 17T01 has more burning vanilla stick type of smoke in it.

Just like to say that aventus really shines in the early summer weather. I live in central NJ and the bubble of pure goodness that envelopes you is truly amazing. The batch hysteria is blahh to me. I have 17no1 18b01 18g02 and they are all spectacular. I've smelled earlier batches and they are fantastic also. There are clones that do a decent job but as Omar from the wire says "when you come for the king, u best not miss."

I do believe there is plenty to be said about the Aventus fragrance for it to have a subforum dedicated solely to it and its evolution since the inception of the scent in 2010.

Interested to hear your thoughts. I, too, have seen the claims of it being 'darker' and less fruits-dominant, probably from the same groups of people!

I'm somewhat new to cologne. I received my first 60 samples at the beginning of this year. One of those was Aventus and it's by far my favorite. It's batch 18D02. I want to try out some other batches to see all of what Aventus can be. Which maybe 3-5 batches should I test that would help me find exactly the type I like. So maybe the best fuit bomb, creamy one, dark one, etc. They can be from any year, I'd just be getting a small decant of each so the price won't be an issue. What does matter though is performance. They HAVE TO have great performance.
