    Default When Guerlain meets Graffiti

According to Fragrantica, Guerlain have teamed up with Graffiti artist JonOne with the above result (click link for more pics).
The limited edition bottles contain 1L of perfume (Shalimar, La Petite Robe Noire, Rose Barbare) and cost €9,000 apiece.
What say you, fellow Basenoters? Creative collaboration or cynical attempt to stay relevant?

If the graffiti/vandalism on the outside of your house just isn't enough....Guerlain. Only €9,000.

While the colors truly look impressive, on the other hand, even 1 L of Shalimar extrait bought in a plainer package (and even if one has to painstakingly put together small bottles of few ml) comes cheaper than 9000 Euros

    Nope. Not even tempted.

I don't know g.-if it is indeed an attempt to stay relevant then, yes, very cynical. I realize graffiti is having a trendy moment but I would have thought a centuries-old company would have learned to ignore trends by now. And if it was truly meant to be a creative collaboration, they certainly could have come up with a better fit. I suppose it depends on whether one considers graffiti to be "art" or not. Obviously I do not, though some is pretty cool-looking. But "cool-looking" does not make it art. The bottles are so much more beautiful sans this embellishment. This is a poor attempt at cynically staying relevant and creative collaboration

Buy one and put it in a bank vault -- make a prof in 20 years and the added bonus is you won't have to look at it
Not sure that helps Guerlain 'stay relevant' though

As a former lame graffiti writer and still passionate about the matter - that looks horribly idiotic on every level.

There is something a bit distasteful about the message implied by the clashing juxtaposition of Guerlain's luxe baroque finery with the street artist's rough down-home daubs. I will say no more, but the OP will understand

Quite heinous, lovely bee bottles defaced like this, deary me.....however I suppose the person who can afford 1 Litre (!!) for Euro 9000 (!!!), probably doesn't care about such things?

The Guerlain bee bottle, is an art in itself, in perfect state to be honest, so Guerlain just took a good piece of art & F'ed it up...just terrible.

I would like them more if you didn't have to see writing. Without that the bottles look more like what are called color field paintings or even have tie dye or batik look about them.

For Guerlain though....no. Trying to hard to slum.

I don't care about the bottles, but everyone in charge of Guerlain fragrances needed to be replaced a few years ago.

Incongruous, to say the least. If the juice was new and edgy it might make sense. I don't think Guerlain could pull it off though.
