Default New Azzaro Pour Homme refillable bottle

I'm not really sure if anyone has noticed this before or even posted, so hopefully some of you Azzaro PH fans will like this news.

It seems Azzaro has brought out a new type of bottle, available in limited regions. I managed to pick up a bottle that was sourced through Germany which actually makes sense as Azzaro's owner, M&W, is a German company.

The new refillable bottle has a distinctive black coloured collar around the atomiser which can be opened by simply unscrewing it. The atomiser can be removed and is refillable. It is also notably thinner than previous bottles. See attached pics below of both atomiser and rear of the box which explains this change.

What is actually even better news is that the fragrance is actually different and by that I mean better!!
I have a bottle dating back to 2012 whereas this one dates back to late 2014. The latter smells more anise-loaded and less of the sharp and messy vetiver note that made the former smell incomplete and all over the place.

That's great news especially if it's a reflection of early formulations.

Is there somewhere it can be refilled? In store?

Good question. I got mine from a private seller who had sourced it in Germany. It definitely reminds me of earlier formulations as I have compared them side by side with those mini vintage splash bottles that are all over the flea bay these days.

I only wish I could find out how to refill them. Basenoters in Germany, perhaps you could chime in and shed some light?

Beauty spin has a tester version of this selling for $18. I wonder if it's the same thing?

Yes, that looks like it could be the one I was referring to.
UK Basenoters might be interested to know that I saw a tester bottle in a Boots store just before Christmas with the black collar, but that has since disappeared. I should go back to that store and see if it's back there now. When sprayed it was notably a different scent.

Well, Clarins does refillables in its Angel and Alien lines so maybe they are expanding the practice.

Look forward to reading your thoughts on how your bottle smells if it's the same as the one I've mentioned.

Default New Azzaro Pour Homme refillable bottle

They fill the shelves at Ross but yeah, where do ya fill them? Costs $15 for the bottle I'm sure it would just be cheaper to keep purchasing the actual bottle.

I'm wearing the new bottle (as pictured in OP) today. Smells abasolutely wonderful. Definitely an all-round smoother scent with a creamier character.

The German text says the scent has 320 ingredients, that it smells wonderful blablabla...

What the website advertises actually seems to be the "refill" for the refillable bottle.

    Thanks for that.
So from this we can conclude that refill bottles are on sale.

This is all very interesting. Hope you don't mind me asking how the performance is. Can you offer a rough idea of longevity? I'm wondering if all of the new bottles with the black lettering, even if they are not the refillable variety, have the same formulation. I actually liked the 2012 version, but gave away my bottle because I wasn't happy with the performance. Naturally, I now regret that. As my "addiction" develops, I find I am not very concerned with huge projection, as long as I get decent longevity from a fragrance. Very much appreciate your bringing this to our attention and hearing more of your thoughts regarding this fragrance, especially as I know how much you are a fan of this fragrance; I've read your excellent review. Thanks.

Thanks. Always happy to help the community out where I can.

I've had it on now for close to 12hrs and it is now a skin scent.

I would say I could still smell it on me at around the 6hr mark but I'm not exactly sure when it started to quieten down. So to answer your question, somewhere between 6-8hrs max.

I'm almost ready for a new bottle of Azzaro pour Homme, I'll look out for this version if I come across it and test it out. The last few previous versions of Azzaro pour Homme were all good for me. (Have not yet come across any vintage/original to compare it to)

That's helpful. Thanks very much. I would think we may not see the refillable bottle here in the states, but i'm definitely interested in at the very least testing a bottle with the black lettering. There is an eBay seller showing this bottle at a reasonable price, but who knows if it's a recent formulation or not. Also not sure if what we get here in the states is the same juice/formula that you are getting in Europe. I love the smell of Azzaro and would be happy with any close variation that gets 6-8 hours. Will have to investigate some more..

I have Azzaro PH in the new bottle design. Reformulated for sure, and in my opinion not to the better.. The fresh "barbershop" smell (think Rive Gauche /Paco Rabanne ) is almost gone. Now it's more dense, and the dry down isn't as good as the former. On the positive side, the longevity has been improved. This is just my opinion, others may think the new one is better

    Thanks, Oslo-Fjord.
Your opinion is most welcome and as you're not agreeing with the majority of responses here, I would really be interesting in hearing more from you regarding the scent itself: what you say is missing in terms of notes? what has been added, if anything?
    Would really welcome your thoughts.

I'm not clever discribing notes etc, so I'll leave that to others My post above describes my experience.

Have this rechargeable bottle on the way. Really looking forward to getting this back in the fold. If it's even a little better performing and smelling than my 2012 bottle, I'll be happy as a clam. If it's only as good as that bottle, that'll be ok too. I never should of gotten rid of it.
