Shalimar -- but I am a bit new to vintage perfume land, and I've only tried the current formulas of L'Heure Bleue and Mitsouko. (Mitsouko is nice, but it isn't "me," and I adore L'Heure Bleue). Shalimar has so many memories of my grandmother, though, including her letting me wear a drop of the vintage ('50s) extrait. The executors tossed it all when she passed away and I was livid.

1985 Kouros. The emotional/sentimental attachment is huge. I'd follow that with Polo (Warner/Cosmair) and RL Monogram (my favorite time machine in a bottle).

Kouros was my main scent in my college years. People, especially my girlfriend (now wife), just loved it on me.

    This thread is too cruel...

I have to add vintage Armani to the Yendi, and also squirrel away under some words, so you can't see it, a bottle of Ivoire too.

I have two: Gucci Nobile and Giorgio Beverly Hills V.I.P. Special Reserve. Fortunately I have multiple bottles of both in reserve.
I don't have a signature fragrance. My signature changes a little bit every day, why shouldn't my fragrance?

I tried to keep to Yendi but I miss the others then. I would have to roam this barren island all alone and squash flowers....

Vintage Kouros for me, both 1981-1986 Paris 1st formulation, and 1993-1998 Sanofi are my favorite formulations and I still have many years ahead of me so slowly but surely buying enough backups to satisfy my craving as I wear this more than anything else.

Also, Dior Eau Sauvage Extreme Concentree 1984-2010 and

    YSL Pour Homme Haute Concentration

These are all fragrances I'm obsessed with having backups of

I can live with current formulations of: Fahrenheit, Antaeus, Eau Sauvage EDT, and Bel Ami

There's no daylight between Checkmate and Purecaramel on Bel Ami; and apparently Chillionare as well. I think you could also throw Remik in there.

I voted for Pour Monsieur because of the way it was phrased, "Can't live without." It's my go-to for meetings, and I also like to wear it at home alone, so it is the one I would be happy to get by on. Antaeus second, I'd just do one spray for meetings.

French Line is a great fragrance but I really have to be in the mood for something spicey to wear it. Vintage Bel Ami, as Bavard alluded to below, is top shelf for me. There are other vintage fragrances that I love to wear, but Bel Ami always strikes a very special chord.

For the record, I would have bet the house on Bavard voting for Antaeus!

Vintage Chanel no 19 for me. But if I was denied that and offered instead a large supply of vintage Fidji or Cristalle EDT, I would get by...

A little over a year ago I typed this...and I still am of the same mind.

But if I were forced to choose, it would always ALWAYS be Vintage Shalimar, but this time, a 1950's/1960's, as that is the bottle I currently own, and it is to DIE for! I sold all my Shalimars to purchase this one 30 ml bottle and it was worth the sacrifice!

One other I must mention, is Balmain Vent Vert parfum. It is so choice! The galbanum is sharp as a dagger but that is what makes the other notes so much more beautiful, as they are a relief. Very much like love.

I guess things change. This thread is over a year old. I said Samsara last year (like Zephyr). But since then I have tried and explored more.
And I would probably say Moschino PH.

    Yes,
Heritage Vintage EDP is nipping on Bugatti and Bel Ami. What about Cuir de Russie and others though? Moschino is getting hard to find at reasonable prices! It is certainly up there too!

I'm beginning to find these "only one" threads mildly Dystopian. Why tempt the catastrophic?
