Was a nasty bit of stomach flu all day today, and almost called out, but I passed the test and survived the day. Now I'm wearing Best by Lomani, a barf bag homage to Van Cleef & Arpels Pour Homme and Calvin by Calvin Klein, with a heavy animalic musk base. It's not as bad as I make it sound, but it's a challenge to wear.

Early morning here in DK. Sunny, not too warm. I'm trying out the Rochas Globe-sample you sent. Very nice rich fragrance.
Fresh, floral, animalic, mossy. Not heavy as I thought it would be.

I am just glad to see these samples getting some good use. They were just sitting in my drawer waiting for the right fragrance aficionado.

After this mornings successful trial-run of Rochas Globe, SOTD is vtg RC Musk Oil cologne (swank).
Very nice damp, musky (ofcourse) yet fresh fragrance. Rich without being sweet. Faulty sprayer (white plastic), but fortunately a screw-top.

I'm not a layerer...save for the occasional Fahrenheit/Fahrenheit Parfum combo or wearing something over the previous night's sandal oil. But yes I do agree they're not symbiotic and that Ho Hang is way, way more quiet. A pissy manflorgere and a dandy mossy oriental are strange bedfellows indeed. I justify (okay, rationalize) maintaining the wardrobe that I have by wearing multiple things at once, multiple times a day, if the spirit compels me

Funny you should say that, because after seeing ZC & CB's posts, I started to wonder what Ténéré might jive well with, and HHC actually came to mind. They both do the "honeyed piss" thing* that the Camel astutely noted, and both present fairly detectable patchouli notes to me, HHC much more so. There is some patch in the original Ho Hang, but to me it's mainly that old-school tried and true blend of labdanum, moss, and woods. For me at least, the presentation of patchouli in HH and HHC are worlds apart.

I've given up trying to find the HHC - Antaeus connection, I'm still baffled.

Really nice stuff, isn't it? Kind of an animalic oriental to me. I haven't sprung for a bottle, but I found an official 5ml splash vial of it on Amazon (of all places) for a few bucks a few years back.

The latest 8oz Five Star spray cologne I bought 2 years back faded from detection in 30 minutes, hence my statement. Maybe older Five Star was better.

I sought out the older French EdT and problem solved.

Maiden Voyage for my new Bugatti Vintage Version mini today. Initial impressions are better than my expectations. See some similarities with vintage Roger & Gallet Santal. Does it have Rose & Sandalwood?

    Vintage Avon Signet from 1987
Like most quickly-retired Avon scents, deep vintage is the only vintage.

This is the 3oz "Pill Bottle" natural spray, that the house started issuing alongside it's bespoke splash bottles and re-issuing older masculines in, but unlike those splashes, had cheap stickers not always centered on the bottles in place of (better) screen print or etching. For folks that hate hand application or just like the Chanel/Guerlain/Penhaligon uniformity, these sprays are the better option, but they have none of the usual Avon quirk factor.

These also go for even cheaper than the vintage pours because they don't have the collectability of normal gaudy Avon pour decanters, so in case vintage Avon wasn't already cheap enough, these are great. The sprayers don't hold up so well and kinda sputter out juice, but they work.

Signet is basically a poor man's Kouros mixed with One Man Show's waistline and wearing Avon Amber boots. It's nothing to scream about.

Well....admittingly when FS took over Royal Copenhagen, they actually did not change the formula, so there are early FS-versions on the market that are actually very good. Today though, is a different story from what I hear and read.

Who would have thought an Irish moose could smell so good? It's on my list to try but will be a blind buy in my case.

    Tonight is Yardley English Lavender.

Man, oh man, I spilled few ml when I tried to decant it, oh well, ~45-47/100 left...Ughh, need to find a back-up, but this version ?! *wallet screaming while running away*...

Steve aka purecaramel, do you think that second version with red shoulders, even is a bit more fresher not so darker, are they atleast 90% same ? If yes, I'll try to get that one as a back-up...

EDIT: Sucker me, instead of puting the wasted Bel Ami from my hands on my face, I just washed...f$@k my life, lol !
