Ralph Lauren Safari for Men, Cosmair. First wear.

A pretty standard spicy-fresh fougere structure, with a somehow "gritty" dry feeling. I love the eucalyptus kick in the opening!

Look away, Papsi -- it's a galbanum bomb coming at ya.

I get the urge for this when the first crisp autumn day lands. It's Givenchy III with a massive green galbanum overlay, which rescues it from opulent floral territory for me. I just realized my bottle is now almost 30 years old. Shocking sillage and persistence, too, given that it's an EDC. Beautiful blended, in the manner of Patou 1000. Bonus: crystal stopper, like a parfum bottle.

Actually, it was your post (plus the weather) that reminded me it was time for a Safari.

It's totally diffferent from the men's version. No resemblance whatsoever.

That must be the first time a woman has said that about a microphallus, ever.

The proportions of that bottle are just so wrong. Please put the metal cover back on.

I just received the Beecham release of this. I'm testing it on paper and I like it. It's not very complex but solid as mentioned in a review . I scored a 100ml spray bottle for a nice price .

This morning I coated myself using my first bottle of Antaeus (~2006 batch) because I was going to be out of doors all morning but then my boy's soccer game got nixed due to weather/field conditions (LA got significant rain last night and it's still overcast with drizzle — craziness, I say.)

    70's - Early 80's Lagerfeld Cologne

Big and Powdery for Fall. An older cousin of Lutens Fumerie Turque

I have two bottles of original, not "Classic" EDT.

With the Lagerfeld the bottle you are looking for is "Lagerfeld Cologne"

    Two bottles that I have
1.Fabrique par S.C.F Sarl pour Parfums Lagerfeld Paris Made in France 60ml
2.Parfums Lagerfeld Dist by Bethco Fragrances Inc. New York, NY 10055. 30 ml.
Lagerfeld invested in Bethco Inc development specifically to sell in the States. It was sold privately, when distribution in the States for scent was centralized into competitive Marketing Agencies.

When you say the bottle is 30 years old you mean you bought it 30 years ago?

If you like galbanum, Phleg, you definitely should try it, it's such an interesting use of that material. PM me and I'll gladly send you a bit of it.

I wish! No, I got it maybe 6-7 years ago. When Safari came out I was, like Phlegethon, a wearer of original Lauren for Women.

Today I thought I would give Parfums Capucci Porce Que! EDT 80° A wear. I mean I atomized it and sprayed 4 ml on lol.
It doesn't smell overly femme to me, quite the opposite for today's Niche standards. There is some florals and an odd note I don't think ive smelled before. I consider it quite wearable for a man. Maybe the odd note is aldehydes. IDK I can imagine the EDP or Parfum would be more femme.
