How soon do you see patch? My PC has that common citrus and lavender opening, then the sum of the middle notes renders as a powdery barbershop-like composition. At about an hour the patchouli begins to reveal itself but never dominates. What's left in the end is a light, perhaps refined, powdery fragrance with a smidge of patchouli dancing in the background. Very well blended actually.

Although posting about it around 3 hours ago, I actually started my day with Pierre Cardin at 3am this morning. I have some errands to run but came home to clean up/refresh. My new SOTD is Dolce & Gabanna Pour Homme (made in Italy). Ive been wearing this a good bit the last few months, comparatively to my wardrobe. Love this stuff!

PS, I didn't finish up my thoughts on the Pierre Cardin that I started my day with. Simplified notes of a wearing are: starts out citrus and lavender. Pretty soon geranium, orris, and a host of other notes combine to a very well balanced powdery fougere. I'm not a big fan of powder but this is tolerable and is the overriding theme for about an hour. Then patchouli begins to stand out but not take over, with the scent remaining well balanced. Just before the 4 hour mark, the diminishing powdery vide is to a minimum but present in the background of a beautiful sandalwood/moss/amber/patchouli combo. At this point the patchouli is a clear and present but part of the choir and yet not performing a solo. Overall the fragrance lasts around 10 hours on my skin, although today I scrubbed it before it had a chance.

Hi, AC. Never tried this one. What are the differences between older/original and current (if you've tried current)? Their both expensive, so is it worth grabbing a vtg or would you think the current be just fine? TIA.

    I own 2 bottles of Jules :

    IMG_4502.jpg

The bottle on the right is a vintage one, the other is more recent but it may not be the current version. I can smell some difference between both but they are not large.
Jules - to some extent - remembers me Chanel Antaeus. It's not a safe blind buy IMO ; try it if you can. I have read that current version is excellent. Jules is a very manly leather scent, nothing like current market offer. The drydown is amazing ...

I own a few bottles of the original vtg. I find it more refined than the vtg Antaeus, but where Antaeus gets animalic, rougher side, Jules with the oakmoss and leather go steady without hard turns...

Czech & Speake No. 88 aftershave. Vintage version in a cylindrical container. Superb stuff. Identical to the cologne version, but not as nuclear. Happy to have 600 ml of this stuff.
