YEAH! I have 2 discount bottles of the modern edp from fragrancenet, and a purple edt buzzer + atomizer from Saks. The DNA is identifiable, though I would say that the modern is a powder puff haze of indistinguishable notes, and as with Apres L’Ondee, the “feeling” is no more. Vintage Guerlains have the development, the nuances, the notes, the richness, the feeling, like nimble fingers on a classical instrument......When I smell a vintage Guerlain, I get that first time high every time.

Back to point, L'Heure is so much more smoother and refined. While the DNA can be identified in the modern formulation, it doesn't have the same glow that I get from the earlier formulation. The sample that I have dates back to the 1960s. That being said I have a much better appreciation of L'Heure Bleue now having experienced the vintage formulation.

    Comme des Garcons Vettiveru

I love vetiver fragrances. This is one of my favorites. It's a nice fresh, woody vetiver. IMO it's worth having even if you own TM Cologne, TF Grey Vetiver, or Guerlain Vetiver which I do own all. I grab this a lot in the summer.

Picturesque!!! Which is exactly how I like it. Somewhere between your weather and my 90F weather would be about perfect for me.

I really love it and is a hidden gem in my opinion. To me, it is a nice mix of Davidoff Relax with a little bit of LeMale. I noticed that some seller on eBay must have ran into a stock pile of testers so I grabbed two that would be a no brainer at $39 each. Stuff typically is well in to the $150 range when you can even find it. Davidoff Relax is up there too with pricing and scarcity.

I need to give it another wear. I have only worn it a handful of times and need to revisit it! Most of my collection is still packed away in totes from redoing the room where i keep them.

What are the main differences between this one and the original release?

I restrained myself. I first picked up one of my bottles of Rive Gauche Intense but put it back down. As somebody -- Howard Cosell? -- once said, everything in moderation, including moderation.

AoS Sandalwood layered with Proraso Green. I love AoS Sandalwood. Proraso is a decent aftershave but it left my skin a little "tacky" for lack of a better word. Maybe because it's my first time using it. It smells decent but it's nothing like Pinaud Clubman or even AV Ice Blue which I love. These both last all day. I'm glad it was super cheap. I'm a little disappointed....maybe it's just me.
