Has anyone here ever tried (or even seen) this 1969 vetiver from Le Galion?

The vintage ad really captured my attention. Very out of step with the "peace & love" culture of 1969. The translation is "On the trail of the man."

Don't know when it was discontinued. Apparently they tried a relaunch of it in 2015 that didn't seem to cause much of a stir. There's one review each of the vintage and the modern here on BN.

    And P.S. -- "hair-play" ???

    Nice Winchester (I think).

Not exactly a "peace & love" vibe, but the Spaghetti Westerns were pretty big back then, too.

    It is a great ad.

There's quite a lot of older LG on the bay. Their Vetyver too. I've been VERY hooked on their Eau Noble for some time now (I think Noble is from 1970 or '71). Haven't tried any of them, unfortunately, but their old stuff has stellar reputation over here in europe.

Eau de Lanvin for Men -- this remains a mystery. BN directory reflects a 1933, as does PerfumeIntelligence, which also refers to it as a "citric-spicy masculine edt created by André Fraysse, classified A3m. Disc." This aint that. Rather, it is a floral green-chypre, more like Insensé on steroids. My particular bottle is likely '60s (pre-barcode striped box and a round, Arpege-like 6 oz spash bottle).

Day 3 of vtg Z-14 and LOVING it! And then one of the channels are showing episodes of ABC's Extreme Makeover, and the episode I tuned in to has Jeff Gordon as guest-celeb! What are the odds of that? LOL must be a sign to keep wearing the stuff

Eau de Patou last night. I don't know what it is about that specific composition that makes my eyes roll back into my head every time...so wonderful. Makes me feel lighter.

And today, a good helping of Antaeus and it feels so good. Had food poisoning over the weekend and this is the first day I've felt safe exposing myself to a heavier scent without being at risk of further vomiting. Good to be back with Antaeus!

Was Jeff Gordon getting the makeover or giving the makeover?

One seems far preferable to the other.

And of course you're talking about the perfume, right?

I can't see that advert without thinking of the "Chicks With Guns" fake commercial in Tarantino's "Jackie Brown" movie.

Interesting. I'm feeling like Le Galion is ripe for some exploration. Their "Whip" interests me very much.

Haha nice one. Well, he didn't look like he needed one. I was thinking "is he wearing Z-14, ya think?". Quite likeable fella
