    Happy Sunday to you all.

We have another day off tomorrow, here in the
U.K, as it is a Bank Holiday. Typical wet, dull weather so far too!

Good morning all !. Glorious here at the moment but kewart's dreich will be heading in our direction later. Seizing the moment to do something constructive in the garden with a sauvignon blanc we picked up yesterday as a lunchtime reward for our efforts.

Happy Birthday, N.Cal! I wish we had a smiley toasting with a bottle of Shalimar instead of beer (but beer is good too!). Please use your imagination; I am indeed toasting you with Shalimar.

I'm in 31 Rue Cambon, wishing you all a nice Sunday!

Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Sunday, 1st May, 2016

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Good morning, y'all,

I'm visiting Nashville for the first time and spent last night eating soul food and listening to classic county western music at an old school honky tonk saloon. Sous Le Vent is blooming in the humid southern weather.

Happy Birthday, N. Cal! I hope you will enjoy your special day!

PerfumedLady - Oranges and Lemons it is! Makes perfect sense to me . And I am so glad you found it worthy of your garden and going out somewhere nice. As for garden activities being beneath Heeley, I don't believe so. This is a quote from one of his interviews, I think you will like it:

What smell experience is strongest in your memory?

"It's hard to name just one, there are many. The smell of freshly mowed grass behind my grandparent's house; camp fires after the potato harvest; spring bouquets, piles of hay, the coast; my hands full of mint leaves freshly picked from the garden, just before noon, before the Sunday roast was served."

And couple other interesting quotes from the same interview:

"I strive for quality. I want my fragrances to be wearable. And most importantly, I want them to be elegant." No kidding!

"But a good perfume should spread joy. And lust, in a good, insatiable way." And a bit naughty I love it!

Later today I will be heading out for a couple of beers with girls from my Uni at the Spotted Dog Brewery. Where we used to live before, we had no access to anything like this, and here we have five(?) breweries. I am so enjoying this city!

Thanks for all the Bday wishes! Today I'm sampling the newTom Ford Soleil Blanc. The scent is suppose to be a summery beach fragrance that has gives a coconut accord. Has anyone tried this scent?

I'm scent twins with Roberto today ... we are both smelling wonderful in Chanel Misia! It's just lovely.

Happy birthday, N.Cal As for the Soleil Blanc, Mike and I tried this out at Neimans when I visited Miami last month. I didn't spray on skin, but I think Mike did. As I recall, we both liked the Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum better as a summery beach-y fragrance. I ended up buying it and am very happy with my purchase. (plus it was waaay cheaper!)

Enjoy your Sunday and happy Easter to those who celebrate today.
    hugs to all ...

I love the Heeley quotes, Whitefluffy, thank you! I still think Oranges and Lemons is too elegant for my grunt work but I also know I'll enjoy it so much during these chores! Especially when it gets very hot. Mr. Heeley sounds like my kind of guy. I'm right there with him on spring bouquets, freshly cut lawns, minty hands and haystacks. He sounds like he'd fit in right here in Indiana, as well as the seaside and beautiful England.

Great news, thediamondsea, I'm so glad you're feeling better!

I am in my own layering concoction this evening, a bit of Apres L'Ondee plus a bit of Shalimar Parfum Initial L'Eau. What I've done is created the most iris-y iris ever, I love it! Weirdly, it smells like neither scent and is a tiny bit reminiscent of Insolence, though loads softer. Very, very pretty.
