Default Layering fahrenheit le parfum with fahrenheit absolute

I just got my bottle of fahrenheit le parfum and loving it. A lot of people say that its similar to fahrenheit absolute, was wondering if its a good or bad idea to layer them. I dont like the original or 32 because of too much petroleum smell, does absolute have that strong note too

Also does anyone else get this boozy plum smell from the top of le parfum? I get this sweet fruity plum smell for some reason

Voted good idea... unsure though .. Might not even try it.
The thought of layering sounds good though

    Do you not have Absolute?

Anyway, it doesn't really have the 'petroleum' note like the original.

I couldn't see myself doing it but if one is inclined - why not?

I've never met a version of Fahrenheit that I didn't like or love...but I may actually give this blend a shot too. Incidentally, per another BNer's suggestion, I really like the combination of Burberry London w/ the original (current edition) of Fahrenheit.

And it's interesting to hear that most don't seem to find the petroleum note prominant in the parfum version - I find just the opposite, which for me is a very good thing.

I realize both scents have "Fahrenheit" in their names, but that doesn't mean they smell anything alike, nor does it mean they compliment each other well enough to be worn together.

The thing most people forget when it comes to layering is that it's not just about whether the top notes smell good together. It's about whether or not the hearts smell good together, whether or not the bases smell good together, and whether or not the fragrances evolve similarly enough on skin so that it all works out.

I'm always amazed by how often people think about top notes and nothing else. I think the base of Fahrenheit Le Parfum could turn anything else into a mess.
