    Default Proof that Guerlain Vetiver was around before 1961

    I was reading through a 1927 issue of Vanity Fair, Volumes 28-29, where Guerlain's Vetiver is clearly mentioned--take a look!!

    Was the article about someone in particular? Anita Loos, perhaps? I can see Gentlemen Prefer Blondes gets a mention and that wasn't out until '53.

    It was a '49 stage musical but still couldn't have been mentioned in 1927.

    Could it be the vintage extrait? This from our own M. G.: "In fact, Vetiver was first meant for Mexico, one of the biggest consumers of Guerlain's old vetiver extract — a staple since 1840."

    Thanks for sharing. A great fragrance with timeless classic values - almost no wonder it took extra years of development, planning and/or crafting before its official release year.

    It must be referring to the 1925 novel by Anita Loos
