    Default Penhaligon for summer

I already have Juniper Sling, can anyone recommend others from this house with good longevity?

I wear anything I want regardless of season. But English Fern is especially good for the heat if you don't mind smelling like shaving cream. It smells fresh and clean which I think is good for summer. I get great performance, but I spray a little more than normal with this one.

I second this recommendation, but understand that NO Penhaligon is going to give you much longevity. They are light, fleeting fragrances.

I tend to be the same as Bangkok Hound, I personally wear whatever I want regardless of the time of year but I think Blenheim Bouquet is quite nice in the Summer. Works well in the warm weather IMO.

Which ones lasts longer than 4 hours on you? I can smell them but they sit VERY close to my skin. I have trouble with the longevity although I love many of their line.

I love Juniper Sling but it becomes a skin scent very quickly, but I just reapply often

Sartorial easily goes all day. English Fern I already mentioned. Levantium, Hammam Bouquet, and Opus 1870 too.

I've never tried Sartorial, so maybe it has better projection/longevity than the other Penhaligon's I've tried. I have tried English Fern, and i't longevity is better, but only in the dry-down note which I didn't care for...geranium or some such green scent.

Sartorial is a pretty substantial scent. I get a solid 6 hrs from it with good sillage the first hour or two and then it morphs into a scent that sits 4-6 in from the skin. Good stuff... I enjoy it.

Perhaps Sartorial. From my experience having tried it, less fleeting than others.

    +1 English Fern for summer

EF and Sartorial are personal favorites (across all brands) although I don't often reach for Sartorial in hot weather. On the other hand, I probably get more summer wear out of EF than anything else in my rotation. I strongly suggest you try it.

I've yet to wear a projection beast from Penhaligon's but that's acceptable to me. Longevity is decent for both EF and Sartorial but they tend to sit close to the skin as others have mentioned.

The one scent that I've tried from Penhaligon's that projects very well is Lothair. I find that 2 sprays is perfect... Any more than 2 and I find that it can get cloying. It's a rich fig-centric scent that works very well in the fall/winter. I feel that it's much too heavy for the summer.

As others have said, English Fern is a solid choice for the summer. Sartorial would probably work best on a cooler (65-70 deg) summer evening.

    Re: Douro
I think this would be fine in the summer; it's a year-rounder for me. The citrus notes in the top are great, but for me the real attraction are the deeper sandalwood and labdanum. Has heft but is not heavy or cloying - dries down very mellow.

If you like classic citrus, then Castile would be another good choice.

I get moderate longevity with both of these.

Luna, Penhaligon's newest, has strong similarities to Juniper Sling. Very light and summery.

I wore 4 sprays of Endymion today and it wore very well. I can still smell it 8 hours later.

I own four Penhaligon's fragrances, and I don't find Blenheim Bouquet, English Fern, or Endymion to be fleeting fragrances. They can last a full day on me. However, Quercus is nice but becomes a skin scent after a couple of hours on me, even with using the matching body wash and deodorant.

In my experience, Blenheim Bouquet and English Fern are my Penhaligon's choices for hot, summer days that last very well. I find the leather note in Endymion too funky smelling (like wet dog) in hot weather. After all, obviously, we still sweat when it gets hot out, and I've found that BB, EF, and Quercus still smell nice and mix well with my own natural "eau de body" scent.

Esprit du Roi is a nice summer frag done in a similar vein as ADP Colonia.

If you like soapy scents, I'd recommend Castile.

Enymion is great too, but I don't think I'd wear it on a summer day. On summer nights it'd be great though.

    I disagree.

I get crazy good longevity from Castile. I'm pretty shocked by its performance, to be honest. 10 hours, easy, and as a skin scent it's shower to shower stuff. It lasts for ages on clothes too. Like I said, I'm shocked. I was expecting to get 6 hours at best from it. Wow, was I wrong about that!

I get excellent longevity from their woody scents too, like Lothair and Levantium. Even Endymion performs well for me.

Their lighter and more traditional eau de cologne style scents do tend to be short lived though.
