Rubbing damages the molecules. Not that I see any point in rubbing it.

High price = high quality, low price = low quality...

Quality is a myth on it's own...

Published fragrance pyramids contain all the notes of a fragrance.

To a certain point. A Toyota is a quality car for a reasonable price. A Mercedes plays on a different field. Choose what you are willing to live with, no right, no wrong.

    Ehmmm.... no...

1.We are talking about perfume here...

    2. A Mercedes has not better quality than a Toyota...

You first have to define the parameter of quality that you'll measure...

As an example... lets measure their quality on a crash test... many Kias have better scores than some Ferraris...

Lets measure quality to endure rust... an old aluminuim Land Rover will have better quality than a steal Cadillac...

Aromachemicals, their destiny is to be smelled... so the parameters are just: like or not like, projection and longevity... that is all...

Natural/organic perfumes are better than perfumes that use aroma chemicals.

    Or

    Natural/organic perfumes don't contain allergenes

    Or

BEAST-MODE!!!! is very attractive to people, I need to overpower an entire night club to score. (Brrr)

    Or

Perfumes marketed to one sex should only be worn by that sex.

Perfumes can smell "feminine" or "masculine".

    This so much.
Beauty is the disinterested one, without which the ancient world refused to understand itself, a word which both imperceptibly and yet unmistakably has bid farewell to our new world, a world of interests, leaving it to its own avarice and sadness.

I agree, but man and women have a scale of masculine vs. feminine. Just wear what you like. :-)

I don't smell it so there's no longevity.
Vintage is always the way to go: avoid reformulations.
    Gender specifications.
"When Onlafbal had put one foot outside the threshold of the church at Chester-Le-Street he felt as if iron were deeply fixed in the other foot. With this pain fixing his diabolical heart, he fell, and the devil thrust his sinful soul into hell. And St Cuthbert, as was right, received his lands"

Non Basenoters: owning five perfumes is a lot.

Basenoters: owning 30 perfumes is 'a small wardrobe'.

Anyone who owns or enjoys Aventus is a Creed fanboy and hopeless shill. Seems to be a main premise/falsehood here.

    Default Re: Myths about perfumes/fragrances

    - Natural is good, synthetic is bad

    - Notes mean materials and vice versa

    - IFRA and/or EU ban things which therefore we won't ever be able to smell anywhere anymore (e.g. oakmoss)

    - You contain Ambroxan! And you contain Ambroxan! And you contain Ambroxan! And you contain Ambroxan!

    - You contain Iso E Super! And you contain Iso E Super! And you contain Iso E Super! And you contain Iso E Super!

    - Incontinent hoarding automatically makes you a fragrance connoisseur

    - Unboxing bottles in front of a webcam and recording a random girl's reaction, and/or reporting about other irrelevant people's feedbacks, automatically makes you a reviewer

And a final Conundrum Myth Combo:

    - Scents are very personal, you should never suggest or gift them to people unless you know them very well

    but

    - In order to choose a new signature scent which you'll carry around anywhere in your life, it's enough to access a forum and tell complete strangers from everywhere around the globe your age, profession and location

As common: those who refuse to call Aventus a masterpiece or even anything beyond mediocre (or those who refuse to put up with the lack of quality control) come to that sour-grapes conclusion because they are too poor to afford it anyway. Or at least this was the case before the merciful subforum.

Skin chemistry. I don't buy it...I find it's just a marketing term so the SA can agree when you don't like a perfume, but still sell it to the next person.
