I found this lady's blog while searching for something: http://collectionsautourduparfum.jimdo.com/

My mind was blown away. Her house is probably a museum for vintage fragrances.

Wow. Just wow. I wish I could print all these pics out and create a reference catalog for myself.

MonsieurMontana and Kumquat should join forces and open a scent museum together.

In retrospect, I could have used some of this money for Givenchy Gentleman and Moschino Pour Homme, but I had vintage Antaeus fever, and corresponding tunnel vision. For the original and the sport flanker, the condition started with the minis.

The boxes are empty, I stopped at 400 ml of the original.

Lucky you. I am still looking for one of those 100 ml bottles.

    Hi all!
We are having a discussion about this photo in the Vintage discussion forum over on Fragrantica. Do any of you recognize the model in this Windsong ad? It's been speculated that he was an actor who became a model? He looks familiar but I just can't place him. Thanks so much!

Thanks epapsiou, that's what I initially thought too. Although there is a strong resemblance hednic is right, he's neither of them.

Dear guys & ladies, this is my today's flea market hunt: I'm pretty fine with them. I guess the seller also is a fumehead so he kept them away from sunlight and he knew what he was talking about. They're smelling like bottled yesterday. Nice stuff & all are VERY musky (musks are a passion of mine): It's 80s bottle Avon Musk Men, 80s bottle Denim, vintage Skin Bracer Mennen, a strange but good german thing called 'Kalif' (smells like vintage Jovan Musk Man), one of those brilliant Sumatra Rain by Muelhens and finally a wonderfully herbal italian citrus-musk called 'Periplo' by L'Erbolario (the latter is no vintage, but good). Got them all for 10 Euros. This has been a nice day! :-)

Thank you :-) ... just wearing the Avon. It's a musk like no other and it's quite strong despite being an AS. It's that sort of metallic, slightly dirty stuff one can find in vintage Sex Appeal and others. Could be a nice wingman for a recent-days Kouros wearing ... the Sumatra Rain is something to watch out: It is exotic, fruity-fougère, pretty 90s with a clean just-showered feel and a mossy sandalwoody final stage. Have fun!

You can have the one drop I currently own if I can have the bottle.

    So we're all agreed?

I would gladly send you some samples of Nombre Noir, but the thing is that the rumors are true... the juice is very fragile so it will easily turn bad. Now, it smells a little bit spicy and rosey, but nothing that would you expect from such a legend and it also has a peculiar smell. I advise anyone not to buy a big bottle of this one online (like me) because there are great chances that the juice has turned bad.

Like that you have Jean Patou Lacoste Eau De Sport (1968). I have the same bottle. Its about 100 ml, frosted, is a sprayer, came in a plain white container, and is a tester. Great, restrained fragrance that has petigrain in it, I believe?

Thanks. This represents about a third of my collection. When I first started, the quest was for quantity and quality, with curiosity mixed in there. I've never gotten a bad batch, but I ordered stuff just for curiosity, and if I didn't like it (if it was a "scrubber"), I would sell it back on eBay. I won't mention names of fragrances that didn't make the cut because everyone's taste and body chemistry varies. I've "thinned out the herd" over the years. Now, I'm more selective, but I don't regret my foray into vintage. I keep learning.

Sniffman - Seeing some of your bottles reminds me how much I like them: Habit Rouge edc, Chanel for Men cologne, and Patou Pour Homme edt are three I have in common with your collection that I'll probably be wearing in the next week or so. Thanks!
