    • It's the largest flowering structure (inflorescence) on Earth, growing up to three metres tall.
    • The flower is only open for 48 hours and attracts insect pollinators with its stench of rotting flesh.
    • When it blooms the flower produces its own heat to help spread the smell and attract pollinators
    • This plant rarely blooms in cultivation (only producing a flower after 7-9 years)

    It actually blooms quite often here in Copenhagen, three times in the last 4 years or so.

    I've seen one of these flowers in a solarium exhibit in Huntington WV, of all places. It's truly massive, and it was in bloom at the time, but we couldn't get close enough to actually smell it. Maybe that's a good thing, lol.
