    Default Mancera - Manufacturing Fault

Has anyone had problems with where their sprayer screws on to the bottle?

I own 6-7 bottles from the range. On my bottle of Cedrat Boise the sprayer just falls off. The whole thing.

The first time I noticed it was after a work trip. I opened my case and my shirts were wet and smelling pretty good for a few days away.

On opening the Mancera bag it was obvious that the screw top was loose. I'd never had a problem before (first time I'd taken it with me) so thought it must have just been me when I last used it. Tightened it back up without checking further and put it back in the unit.

Next trip and exactly the same thing. I have wasted around 50ml of juice and ruined a couple of expensive shirt due to this.

Upon closer inspection it is clear that the lid simply does not screw on correctly. A little tug and the whole thing pops off. All my other bottles a completely secure.

I have contacted Mancera a couple of times now but haven't even had a response from them.

Had anyone else ever managed to get in touch with them before?

    Thanks

I don't know if it is a manufacturing fault but the third time I unscrewed the cap it came off completely and I had a tough time trying to separate the two pieces. The cap, if screwed on a little tighter will fuse with the atomizer part, you need to be careful!

The box was shrink-wrapped properly -- hadn't been tampered with

Opened the box and the bottle was empty. The top of the bottle and sprayer had been sheared right off (but placed back on the bottle). There was just a small residue of juice left in the bottle, but no visible seepage inside the box.

The SA's couldn't believe what they were seeing when I took it back- a replacement and lots of apologies followed.

It must have been siphoned off down the packaging line somewhere.

Very strange. Being shrink wrapped there would have to have been more than a bit of residue. Where else would all the juice go other than the bottle being tampered with.

Unfortunately I purchased my bottle from Beauty Spin due to their constantly changing offers on Mancera. I haven't even tried to contact them as I know what their reply would be.

I have around 6 bottles of Mancera and one of them does have the same problem you describe. You can not take the cap off without taking the sprayer off - it is a pain in the arse

With regards to getting hold of them, you have pretty much no chance, they never reply to any emails that I have ever sent - no totally dissimilar to Montale

I wish I had realised before turning the bottle on its side. Definitely after it leaking the first time. What a donut!

I was looking at purchasing Kumkat Wood, Roses and Chocolate, and Aoud Lemon Mint but their lack of customer service is off-putting.

The cap on kamkut woods bottle created problem for me once. Mistakenly, I tighten it enough and it was jammed. With all of my "manual/hand" power, it didn't work and i was preparing my mind for a full bottle lose. But then it loosen when i placed the cap area in hot water for sometime and it was opened.
I never tighten the caps after that. 😀

I had no clue you could unscrew the sprayer until one day I tried to open my bottle of lemon line and the nozzle was inside the cap. Luckily I had a pair of pliers...it's great when you want to decant but otherwise a bit annoying, luckily my Cedrat Boise doesn't do that, the only other Mancera I have interest in purchasing is the lemon mint. It could be worse though, there are so many others that just leak everywhere as you're spraying them *cough* Brecourt

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I'm not the only one then.

All my bottles seem to unscrew but they do up tight. CB doesn't even need unscrewing just a firm pull on the sprayer and hey presto 5ml lost and soggy pants.

Own the 120ml of Cedrat Boise and indeed you have to be careful but I got my screw off sprayer pretty tight now and I can screw off fthe cap without any problem. I also have decanted 10ml.
My 60ml of Kumkat Wood has no screw off sprayer. Is this only with the 120ml's?

That's what made me think it had been siphoned off pre-packaging and shrink wrapping

I was a bit concerned the store might have suspected me of doing it

I have the exact same problem with my bottle of Roses Vanille every other time when I unscrew the lid the whole nozzle comes off with it, just like you @moonpoppy, I have to keep it a little loose too.

It also seems to leak on its own - the nozzle gets wet with scent whilst sitting in the cupboard. I've wiped it off with a tissue (which I keep in the lounge room & smells gorgeous for a week) however it becomes wet again - on it's own (eg without me using/spraying it in the meantime). As nice as the tissues smell, it's not the way I want to use this scent.

My Givenchy Pi sprayer is kinda loose and twists on the neck of the bottle, but at least doesn't leak.

The answer was in the previous post of mine (last post before yours!)......
My 120ml CB and 60ml KW both have screw off sprayers. I guess all bottles have but some are really tight and do not go loose that easily, at least not when you screw of the cap (I, at first, also could not get the sprayer loose of my KW 60ml while trying to turn it with my fingers but finally it definitely is a screw off sprayer after all!).

While I was in Milan earlier this year, the sales guy picked a bottle up of the display (can't remember exactly which one) and he must have grabbed it by the sprayer, and it fell off, and he nearly lost the bottle. Thought it was strange at the time, sounds like it could be an issue with these bottles.

My affected Roses Vanille is a 120ml bottle.

For those who this happens to, if the sprayer comes off with the cap - screw both back onto the bottle again quite tightly and then unscrew again. The cap should come off by itself -- it may take a couple of tries. Then after that make sure you don't screw the cap on too tightly & it shouldn't happen. It's easy to forget though
