Today I bought my first vintage perfume! Well, it arrived today anyway...

    84ACD1FF-3575-4A0B-AC49-31CA5CD3728B.jpg

Purchased from another BNer (Thank you Beleriand!), it was a blind-buy, but how could I not?? I started with the extrait, but that may have been diving in a bit TOO head-first haha. All I got from that was civet, and strong flashbacks to the hours spent wandering the aisles of Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe on Pier 54 in Seattle as a kid in the late 80ís/early 90ís. Why does it smell JUST like that??

Anyway. Iíve now had the EdC on for a couple hours, and while it started out a bit civet-y and Curiosity Shoppe-y, it setttled down quickly, and has now faded into a lovely powdery-floral-skin scent on me. Still not my beloved No.5, but I see (or, smell...) the similarities, and Iím so glad I made the purchase!

That's a lovely Lanvin coffret, Peachie, and looks to be in pristine condition.

I own that same bottle of Eau de Lanvin, but mine has decayed to the point that it seems to be all civet. Not really wearable in that condition.

Manceraís Lemon Line has an uncle thatís not quite as loud and has a bit more class. His name is Masculin 2. Iíve finally been able to try this fragrance due to a decant I picked up in a swap with a classy guy. Masculin 2 is perfect for my climate. I need to get a bottle. I donít know about reforms etc on this one, so if someone could kindly explain or show me which bottle I need to get it would be greatly appreciated.

Missed opportunity. They should have packaged that in a bottle shaped like an oil derrick. With a restrictor cap like Mugler Cologne.

    British Sterling Imperial Musk

Never tried this before that I'm aware of. A while back I threw in a little plastic bottle of British Sterling into an online cart maybe to get free shipping or something. Tried it from that bottle and was quite surprised - this stuff is GOOD. Like, not some cheap smelling garbo - it actually smelled pretty damn good.

So why not look for some vintage stuff of that... plus musk!? Haha
