Going back to the future... or to 1984 to be more precise. I don't even remember what this used to smell like, but, revisiting the reviews, I pulled the trigger on it tonight.

    Davidoff by Davidoff, 4.2oz bottle.

Ha ha, well, no... the one I bought had a BUY NOW option, no bidding. The price was fine so I didn't bother with looking for better deals (which you can probably still get, but I also see some people already list this one at $200+ for 50ml bottles. I hope it's as good as the reviews - I honestly cannot remember what this one is like at all, so for all intents and purposes it was a blind buy, too.

I have A/S of this one. I think that is very potent. Lasts 24 hours. Wears stronger than some of the EDPs out there. So I am thinking this edt will be chuck norris. Might put vintage Kouros to shame.

I've been on a "powdery" fragrance kick lately and saw Zizanie mentioned several times in my research. Picked this up on ebay for less than $10. I have to say it's a very literal representation of what I think of when I think of powdery. It dries down identical to a barbershop talc smell.

Got a half full vintage 50ml Fahrenheit bottle from 2002 which looks exactly like this one and smells like new: Difference with post 2007 bottles is really huge imo!

    - - - Updated - - -

I also got a 50ml 1999 4th edition full bottle of Paco Rabanne pour homme as back up of my other vintages: looks exactly like this:

Vintage bottle of Hermes Eau d'Hermes, the one with copper cap. I used to have it, sold it, missed it, had to get it back in my collection again, and finally found one. Thanks The_Drake! Quick shipping from Norway, too! :-)

Found an small old bottle of Grey Flannel on ebay. I used to wear this one back in high school and guess it helped spark my obsession with fragrance. Looking forward to the trip down memory lane.

Bought a few this week through a good friend here on BN who's selflessly helping in buying / shipping, should recieve them in the next 2-3 weeks

    Gucci Pour Homme 1976 - 2 X 60ml splash

    Mark Birley for Men - 1 X 125ml

    Rive Gauche Pour Homme 1 X 125ml

    Carven Homme - 1 X 50ml vtg

    Ungaro i - 1 X 100ml

Might get few more - still deciding, but these are on my mind - Salome, Afrika Olifant, Charles Street by Mark Birley, Ormonde Man, Zoologist Bat, Tauer Au Couer du Desert & the unattainable Rochas Macassar...

Kouros has been a new find for me. I had tried it initially when I started and was out off. I guess it was too soon and I tried with non-vintage.
Anyways this is the Kouros porn bought in Nov.
    They are all A/S.
The middle one is "made in mexico". A rare one i guess. Smells better than other 2 imo.
But the difference is slight and they are all good

Why is it tin can rive gauche isn't as expensive as other "modern" vintages? For example, La Nuit and Midnight in Paris EDP are both over $150 but a 4.2 oz rive gauche doesn't even reach $100

Good question. The easy answer is supply and demand, but then the real question is about the specifics of the supply and demand for these three. I'm guessing there might be more Rive Gauche Pour Homme around, combined with it getting a little less hype.

Shhh. Let it lie. There are many such counter intuitive instances and I count my lucky stars for these.

    Very nice!
I got myself a vintage 50ml aftershave (spray!) from the Parfums Corp. era (1986-1991) which is stronger than the Kouros produced as of 2002 till now and It also lasts through the day!

    Thanks.
Yes the AS is stronger than many current day edts and lasts a whole day. Plus I think more wearable than vintage edt (office safe almost).
Those days had some good A/S. Kouros, Davidoff classic(very strong) , belami.
I guess there were other odours that were competing with fragrances back then.

The Parfums Corp. aftershave I own is not office save at all as it is still full of civet(one) and way way too strong and 'dirty'! It is like 85% of the Parfums Corp. edt imo.
I also own a Gucci era aftershave which is much less heavy (especially on the civet) which is more office friendly imo.
To the office I would wear the Fraicheur version though (Sanofi version which is pretty light).

I guess my office is more "Fragrance Adventurous" . The weird thing is I am the only one who wears fragrances. Everyone else uses fragrance free deodorant.
But then they generally encourage this hobby of mine. As long as I do not overspray and stay in my corner

    - - - Updated - - -

Now there is very interesting story behind these Caleche.
I won't go in details but gist is all were bought from eBay and all were bought accidentally. 4 accidental purchases at different times and all 4 happen to be same fragrance
