Default SOTD thread should be in "General Fragrance Discussion" board.

In my opinion, Rather than having separate threads in Male and Female discussions, "SOTD" thread should be in "General Fragrance Discussion" board.

(So every one will need to post only once and every one can see in one place only)

    What is your opinion?

    I wouldn't mind this.

Irrespective where the thread is situated, (strictly personally) considering that is fine, easy to find, use, look up etc. just as it is

I don't really care to be honest. But actually there is no reason for it not to be in General. I know some do post in both Female and Male SOTD each day

Appalling idea. The female boards have a unique camaraderie that is absent in the rest of the forums. If it was amalgamated that would be lost. We have been here before - if it isn't broken leave it alone.

Completely agree! And not all of us post in both.

I've never understood this. But I also don't understand why some people post their SOTD before the day in question has even arrived where they reside.

My SOTD, I get up and look at my collection and just go with my gut that day. Well the Friday Sych is different I do think the day before what it will be.

I only post in Female, but have noticed that some do post in both. To be honest I am lazy and just go with Female, even though I wear loads of male fragrances.

    Same feeling.

I would leave it as it is due to the different character of the thread in the male and female sections.

And also I think the number of people who post in one or the other, male or female, is far greater than the the number who post in both. And I know that there are some who are annoyed by our way of doing things over on the FFD SotD (because we've had this conversation before). I do not intend to change my posting style to fit in with a generic SotD thread. As it is now, at least we can choose our preference.

ETA-not sure what went wrong here; I clicked "edit" on my original response to add some thoughts and this is what happened. Did not intend to quote myself!

Although I don't post in either (preferring the directory function), I visit the FFD SOTD thread from time to time, usually when I need my faith in internet humanity restored. I say leave it alone.

I prefer to keep SOTD as it is now. The female thread is a nice community that should not be altered.

The FFD SOTD and the people who post there are the main reason I joined Basenotes. I vote for leaving it the way it is.

FFD FFD FFD. Why mess with perfection.
But seriously every board has its charm and character that has evolved over time. FFD has its camaraderie, warmth and graciousness.
    MFD has Aventus subforum.
    Let us not change things
    Edit :
and vintage subforum has .....well me
