Default Fragrances that can be smelled from far away?

    Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations on fragrances that you can smell from far away (a few feet or meters) AFTER a few hours? I have these fragrances:
    Black Orchid
    Tobacco Vanille
    Joop Homme
    CK One Shock (graffiti one)
    A* Men
    Diesel Only the Brave Tattoo
    Boss Bottled Night
    Davidoff Cool Water

All of these fragrances that I have, smell good but, after a few hours, they become a skin scent. I don't know if it's my body chemistry or the fragrances have been reformulated. I've seen a lot people talk about Black Orchid and Tobacco Vanille to be monsters in silage, but honestly, for me it's the opposite. Have they been reformulated or what? Don't get me wrong, those two fragrances can last up to 24 hours on my skin, but after an hour or so, they can only be smelled if someone is right next to me. Anyone know any fragrances that have great silage after a few hours, and fragrances that haven't been reformulated?

Thanks! Is Korous by YSL good in terms of sillage? I hear people say it's a monster; and is that reformulated?

It's pretty potent. I own the original, but my understanding is it has changed over the years.

A: Buy Interlude Man. 10 sprays. Your scent will fill the room.

B: Get a skunk. 1 spray. They'll smell you for miles.

Keep in mind, sillage and projection aren't the same thing. To be smelled from far away, you want projection.

Sillage is the scent trail you leave behind.
Projection is how far out a scent travels.

Most of the Montales are. The recent releases maybe a bit less. A real power bomb is Montale Louban IMO.

    Poison by Dior.

The original formulation, not the modern crap. You can smell it from 10m away, and it fills a room for hrs afterward.

Joop! Homme and A*men become a skin scent after a few hours? On me many scents do but not these two They are potent for at least 8 hrs and go on for many more. Maybe because I own the vintages.

Interlude +1 No need to use 10 sprays lol, 2 will fill a room as well!

You need more sprays - at least 5.

Really most anything if you spray enough. I don't like weak fragrances.

So many can, but few are worth the spray. Five that are...

    Angel A*Man... Handle with care.
Hanae Mori HM... EDT is great, EDP (by your criteria) is a little better.
Dior Sauvage... 3 sprays, 3 hours, 9' away, they will all be happy.
Something natural, 'fresh', fairly-priced, good performance, did I say 'natural'?.. Bentley Azure. BENTLEY AZURE (I love this).
Prada Luna Rossa Extreme... Not my cuppa, but it projects like a megaphone (4-6 sprays). Some folks adore this, others NO! A polarising scent.

+1 Lapidus Pour Homme. The go to scent when you want to be remembered.
JPG Kokoriko has similar effect, as does Lolita Lempicka au Masculin.

Jaques Farh Pour LHomme gives me 8+ hrs of solid performance.

One Man Show is also a great performer.
I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.

When I use my shave kit, aftershave and 7 sprays of the fragrance, Dolce & Gabanna The One puts out a strong sillage for the first hour or so. People were smelling me from 10 feet away in the office during that hour. I have to tone down the number of sprays in future uses.

The original or the reintroduced one?

I used to own both and find that the performace is very similar. The difference lies in the quality. I find the the vintage has a more natural smelling amber and the lavender sits atop of the fragrance is less "screechy."

Had I never smelled the vintage, I would have been more than ok with the newest release. Seeing as I have, I sold off the newer bottle about a year ago.

Projection and sillage are the same thing... evaporation ratio + concentration of the perfume... (if you move, walk or whatever, has nothing to do with the perfume)

Any of these 2 will give you the desired effect, so spray more to increase the concentration... this is better than opting for light edt´s that evaporate faster, since longevity will be affected with this approach...

Surprised you get low projection out of Tobacco Vanille?
    It's downright nuclear on me

    Try:
    Interlude man
    L'air Du Desert Marocain
    Black Afgano
    Clive Christian no. 1
    Dior Homme Intense

Sorry but I really don't think it is possible that Black Orchid quickly turns into a skin scent on someone. That stuff has some serious power.

Appreciate the reply. I tend to find the original just a bit more full-bodied.

I can think of quite a few off the top of my head, but I think the one that takes the prize for me is Interlude Man. Just nuclear on me.
