What is the darkest smelling fragrance you own? Dior Homme Parfum comes to mind in my collection

That I own I would have to say Puredistance M.

Depends on how you define 'dark' in fragrances I suppose. I would say DHP is more 'dense' than dark but all 'irises' have a funereal edge, imo

I would say Salvador Dali Pour Homme is pretty 'dark' in an otherworldly sense.

Perhaps Petroleum. Like entering a dark, damp cave. Some incenses can be pretty dark as well, like Lampblack.

yeah I didn't mean dark in a deathly or otherworldly sense, more in a rich, dense way.

in this case... yes, probably DHP. or ELDO Rien. or Guerlain Santal Royal

but the darkest (dark != death, otherworld ...) is: CdG BLACK

Hmm... off the top of my head, Black Afgano is likely the darkest (literally it is by color), densest, in my collection currently.

I do have a bottle of Haitian Vetiver pure oil that is so dense it takes over a minute for 1 drop to come out of the bottle. Very dense fragrance as well. But I'm assuming for the purposes of this thread we're talking about bottles of perfumer concoctions, and not pure oils.

Tea for two is vary dark to me. Guess it's the overdose of clove followed by black tea.
Also Encre Noir is an obvious choice

Norma Kamali Incense (unfortunetaly I only have a small sample sized decant).
The synthetic perfume materials are supposed to enhance and support the use of natural raw materials, not to replace them, nor in any way to beat them off the market. The synthetic chemicals present a certain challenge to nature, and the perfumer can assist nature in her fight by utilizing the synthetic materials to the advantage of the natural raw materials. (S. Spooky, came to say these two (wearing Salvador Dali tonight)

Out of interest, do you find any similarity between LB Black Oud and Black Afgano? Each reminds me of the other when I wear them

I enjoy the complexity of "dark" frags.

    My list would include:

    Norma Kamal-Incense
    Etro-Messe de Minuit
The Hell or High Water Collection-Beaufort London (brilliant compositions IMHO)
    I saw that!!
