Default Blind buy BVLGARI Man In Black?

I might blind buy this. I keep seeing people praising it and it seems unique.

What can you guys tell me about it?

Also I have Spicebomb already so are they different enough to have them both?

There are significant synthetics in this fragrance, and because of a number of divergent observations on how this smells from different people, I highly suggest testing a sample of this before buying. Too much risk that your nose might not like one of the synthetic notes. Luckily I liked this very much and I bought it, but due to other highly popular fragrances having synthetics, like Dior Sauvage, having a major displeasing scent disagreement with my nose, I now won't suggest blind buys in on fragrance types like these. Synthetics are too unpredictable. Although, for me, Bvlgari Man in Black smells amazing.

If your nose has no objectionable response, this fragrance makes for a great fit for someone who likes to dress up often in classy outfits and/or suits.

Have only tried this on two occasions, but that was enough to know it was not for me.

Although a decent sweet gourmand and good quality for the price, would still not recommend blind buying it, as its sweeter, but also its spicier notes have something quite likely polarizing, "love or hate" about them and are perhaps not the easiest to deal whit, in spite (or maybe because) of being quite unique

If you like a dark sweetness with a black pepper twist, and if the synthetics don't mess with your nose, then this one is for you. I happen to really enjoy the composition. It even has a faint black tea note in the backround and what seems like a 'fresh' scent in the core of the fragrance. Hard to explain how they managed to make a dark, peppery, fresh fragrance that works, but it's really a treat for me to smell all day.

Price is low so go for it... I've been even tempted to buy it just because of the bottle...

I can not recommend as a blind buy; it's not for everyone. Similar to Spicebomb, but does have some sort of rubbery/plastic thing going on that I did not appreciate. My preference is for Spicebomb.

Both not safe blindbuys imo. I don't get similarities between Spicebomb and Bvlgari Man In Black.

This one does have a unique opening, but I found it to be fairly generic about 15 mins later. It's not bad given its target audience, but it's kind of your standard mass-market musky blur.

Very interesting scent, I owned and liked, but I suggest you go to the mall and give it a sniff first.

Fairly safe buy if you like muted spicy scents. Nothing unique, bland with mediocre performance.

Don't like it. However, I don't like Spicebomb more. A pure synthetics. You don't need it if you have Spicebomb, they are too similar to have both unless your collection counts hunderds of bottles.

If it's easy enough to get access for a test, I would always do this. I must admit to the frisson of excitement attached to an unavoidably blind but, though.

Tried it at Sephora yesterday. Performance reminds me of Jon Varvatos scents: pretty poor and rather muted. Didn't find the scent itself special.

I get few, but dont think they are that similar to how many perceive them here....

If you like Spicebomb, then you'll like MIB. I like MIB more, it is more "grown up". If I had spicembomb, I wouldn't get MIB because they are pretty similar.

I don't really think this is like Spicebomb except the tobacco note, but the pepper notes are VERY different as MIB as 'black' pepper (like your table pepper shaker) and it's right on top of everything and prominent then the sweetness and tobacco blend to a point where the tobacco isn't so easy to identify and there is a 'fresh' core with a black tea vibe in there. I just don't get the Spicebomb comparison that much. MIB does lack projection admittedly and will not "fill up a room". MIB keeps what limited projection it has for many hours however and IMO, MIB was intended to be a subtle, 'personal' scent that is only detectable within conversational distance at best.

I would definitely consider this a romantic masculine fragrance. Classy and worth wearing with a suit or an expensive casual outfit. As with synthetics though, not everyone is going to agree on it, as I said before. What sold me on it was the sweet and peppery dark vibe then when I caught that black tea note in there, I had to own it regardless of the performance issues. I'll live with the lack of projection in order to be able to smell this when I'm in the mood. It's a fragrance that is well worth the price its charged at for what you get out of it. It could arguably be worth more money if it was polished up just a bit more with fewer synthetics. MIB could potentially be reformulated into a real masterpiece with more natural ingredients and improved performance.

I went and tried it out and to me it was very similar to Spice Bomb which I already have, so this one is a no go for me.

Of course it is unique with its burnt leather effect. Why not for blind buying? It is cheap you can't lose a lot. Its weak btw. You have to spray more than your usual spray.

Come back another time and give it another try. MiB has tuberose in it and a different feel that I enjoy at night. It definitely grew on me and I actually like it better than SB now.

Agreed. I smelled Spicebomb at Saks and it was 'okay' but didn't make me want to even get a sample. Man in Black however was good enough to sample then ultimately buy. There are longevity and projection limitations, but the scent is so good, it's worth the sacrifice.

Love the juice, but the sprayer sucks, it squirts not a full spray unless I am holding the bottle with both hands, anybody else?

Agreed. The sprayer SUCKS. It's the worst sprayer in my whole collection and even my cheap $5 travel atomizers have a better sprayer than this.

I blind bought it (based on reviews of it being unique) and I regret it. Trying to sell it now. I would try first, it is not as unique as people say...
