"akigalawood" sounds interesting as long as it's not Hawaiian for norlimbanol.

No - you're not alone! I use this a lot in the warmer weather (you know, the 2 days we call summer...!).

I've also got the matching shower gel which is very good too. I tried Jil Sander Sun Man Fizz last year but didn't care for it much. Hope the Sun Men Sport is better.

Yes -- can't imagine using outside of summer. Always reminds me of a gorgeous sun tan lotion but with staying power!

Exactly! Really warm and musky in the drydown with really good lasting power - great stuff.

According to t'interweb - the 'Akigalawood' "is a perfume note which was fractionated from patchouli oil and is used by Givaudan. Its odor is described as woody, spicy and floral." - I'm more interested by the minute...!

Not to start us down a rabbit hole about misleading note pyramids - but it's interesting that companies are now using proprietary and entirely imagined note names in their external-facing pyramids. It's not even a misleading but attractive sounding "thing". It's an entirely made up word with "wood" at the end, and it's copyrighted.

I guess it sounds vaguely tropical and nice, but unless someone actually searches the intertubes, they won't know what it is or how it contributes to the fragrance. And if they go that route, what they find isn't exactly inspirational from a marketing perspective. Used to be they'd call it something like "cashmere" (oh wait...) or "life spirit essence".

    Quoting from NST:
...and akigala wood©. (I’ve put the copyright sign next to akigala wood, because that’s the way it’s written in the press materials.) Akigala wood© is a new Givaudan fragrance material described as “powerfully peppery” and “evoking patchouli.”
Are there other examples of this?
