I definitely do on occasion. I blind bought Amber Absolute recently and I couldn't be happier

I have established my own tastes and always do a lot of research on a scent I blind buy. But it's not frequently just now and then when I want that gamblers thrill.

I'll blind buy if I'm very confident that I'll like a scent based on past history, and it can be had for around $50 or under. Otherwise, I'll almost always sample first.

Informed Blind Buying - I research, check a variety of sources and then roll the dice

Sometimes it works - sometimes it does not

Yes, as some I really wanted to have based on reviews and comparing those to my taste which were not to be tested anywhere at that moment (especially some powerhouses).
Like: R&G Open, Quorum, Aqua Quorum, Giorgio for men, Lapidus Pour Homme, Krizia Uomo, Sung Homme, Zino, Jaguar for men and some more. As far as niche I bought all my four Mancera's blind (Kumkat Wood, Cedrat Boise, Sand Aoud and Lemon Line). Still own and like/love all these purchases fortunately.
My Top '11' of main current rotation in no particular order:

    - Paco Rabanne: Pour Homme (vtg)
    - Antaeus (vtg)
    - Azzaro: Pour Homme (vtg)
    - Armani: AdG Profumo
    - Alain Delon: Iquitos
    - Guerlain: Héritage (vtg)
    - Thierry Mugler: A*men
    - SA: Al Basel
    - D&G: Pour Homme (vtg)
    - Mancera: Red Tobacco
    - Mancera: Aoud Vanille

Rarely, only if it's hard to find a sample or decant. This doesnt happen much any more.
I did buy a full bottle of Ultra Zest because i just couldn't find anyone decanting in Australia. But i did make sure it was a good price on line.

Very frequent, I just like the fun factor and the feeling of anticipation.

Luckily, I've ended up liking over 80% of my blind purchases. But I do usually research and read some reviews before most of my blind buys.

Very rarely these days compared to how many it used to be just for the sheer adventure of it. Nowadays I prefer to sample/get a decant to check and in reality there has been very little I've sniffed that has been full bottle worthy for many moons since I cleaned up my act and avoided my fragrance binge buying ways.

Shouts outs to those still getting high on their own supply as the acquisition rush kicks in and those mystery parcels you bought via international shipping arrive and you forget you'd even ordered them as you'd been swamped with other purchases in the interim, I tip my flacon to you crazy yutes:

Sometimes, but in each case I've read quite a bit through the reviews here. It's worked out pretty well so far. So, a thank you to all those folks who post reviews.

Living in Australia, sometimes there's no other option. When I started out collecting I used to buy a lot of scents blind. No though, my blind buying is much less frequent.

While Australia does get a lot of variety in designer scents, niche is much harder to track down locally. Although in recent years (at least in Sydney) a number of places have popped up that sell a variety of niche scents.
My current top 10 (subject to change) in no particular order:

Rive Gauche Pour Homme, Essenza de Zegna, Zegna Essenze Amber Gold, Armani Privé Sable Or, Armani Privé Vétiver Babylone, Mancera Cedrat Bois, Acqua di Giň Profumo, Amouage Dia Man, L'Artisan Explosions d’Emotions: Amour Nocturne, Zegna Essenze Italian Bergamot/Acqua di Bergamotto

    Nearly all the time

Combination of not having much choice where I live, cost of sampling being surprisingly expensive and a raging compulsive personality lead to pretty much non stop blind buying

Sometimes. But not completely blind, since I do some research, read reviews and opinions, try to figure out if I might like the fragrance in question. Just blind bought Carven Homme

That was me pretty much until a few months ago. There was a point where roughly 70% of my collection was via blind buys.
Now I sample at home first (sampling in store can be misleading/inaccurate), and after careful deliberation I will buy. My collection is more or less where I want it to be now (after 3 years of hard work) so there's not much that tempts me for a blind buy either.

I've done it exactly once, and may never do it again.

I definitely understand the thrill. And totally respect the guys who roll the dice, and take responsibility for the results. But I"d be lying if I didn't admit it cracks me up when someone blind buys, and then comes on here and "I blind bought it because of all the hype"... I love how weak-minded people blame things on the boogieman "hype" instead of taking responsibility for their own decisions. In all the hobbies I"ve ever been in, there's nothing even remotely comparable to the way "hype" is used in the fragrance community

I guess living in a large city has it's advantages. It is very easy for me to sample fragrances. At least designer.

I've been very surprised when I didn't like some highly recommended scents. If I had blind bought the bottle, I'd be pretty upset. But would have no one to blame but myself.

That actually doesn't look far removed from what would be an enlarged flacon of Grey Vetiver...
