I would have to go with POLO. I know there are better frags out there but there's just something about it when I wear it.

    Yatagan.
It’s tragic to think that heroic man’s great destiny is to become economic man, that men will be reduced to craven creatures who crawl across the globe competing for money, who spend their nights dreaming up new ways to swindle each other.

Hermès Eau de orange verte. Maybe. Maybe Aventus? It pains me to even think about having only one fragrance for all seasons, for all occasions.

Though vintage Bel Ami is my favorite fragrance, I wouldn’t want to wear it everyday because it lacks versatility.

I’d go with vintage Rive Gauche by YSL.

As for one, I'm really not sure. Really, really not sure. I've deliberately gone for a small collection so I'd have 3-4 main scents covering nearly all needs. But I'm not sure I have one that would be the 'the one'.

The obvious one, the safest one I wear everyday to work, is Tom Ford for Men. But not sure I'd be happy with that.

    Honestly, might be Aventus.

Btw : is the black rimmed Armani very different ( in a good way ) compared to silver rimmed current formulation ? Why I ask is as my current formulation is fast approaching the finish line ....So wondering if I should buy another one of these and go for the vintage version ....I do have a small mini of it but it's difficult to decipher the difference since the mini spritz is too small for me to clearly distinguish the 2

With apologies for only replying right now-after giving the resemblance and/or difference between the two much thought, having tested, owned and used both versions at some point, must admit to like the black rimmed version more.

While the new one is nowhere near being bad and still retains much of the initial DNA of this fragrance, it feels more de-saturated, more toned down and with slightly decreased performance compared to more vintage older versions with an increased amount of more powerhouse oakmoss, wood, resinous chypre/piney notes.

Therefore the vintage still remains far from a powerhouse since it projects and lasts in a more gentlemanly understated manner, it still has more heft, structure, persistence than the current silver rimmed version to appeal more to the powerhouse and vintage enthusiasts among fragrance wearers.
