Can anyone identify any of the bottles shown here on Jayne Mansfield's basin counter? Thank you for any assistance.

Oh my, the carpeted walls and ceiling The bathtub looks like a puck from a Ouija board.

I don't recognise any of the bottles but the large white one reminds me of a Guerlain.

Love the reflection of the photographer standing on a stool. Baggy trousers and grey socks.

They actually look like bath oils and face creams. I will say brought in for the photo shoot.

Ha ha... I hadn't immediately noticed that..... how funny. It actually looks like the shape of a woman hips in those trews...

    Untitled-1.jpg

Now back to the perfume ID....

I've changed it from 72dpi to 300 to see.....

    Untitled-1.jpg

    and the creams...

    Untitled-2.jpg

The backs in the mirror aren't much clue either...

    Untitled-3.jpg

Plus the little bottle by the left tap...

    Untitled-4.jpg

The film she was in a bath for was possibly 'Promises, promises' so the perfume was 1963 ish

    She apparently wore Arpege

Perfumes included classics like Arpege (celebrity user: Jayne Mansfield)

and I found this pic too.

    jayne-mansfield-perfumes-boudoir.jpg

I suspect the bath photo shoot had nothing to do with her own choices of scent.... and no bottle very obvious in this shot either.... (close up)

Now... no more..... this is a perfume shop in New York in the 50's and the packaging at the top right looks similar.

I'm shocked -- shocked, I say -- that she didn't choose the heart-shaped washbasin option to match her heart-shaped bathtub.

And was that really a photo from "Life" magazine? The USA's most popular magazine couldn't be bothered to crop out the photographer's reflection?

Think they may have done it intentionally actually.

Then I'm doubly shocked. That seems awfully avant-garde for Life magazine.

It's kind of an artsy touch. Perfectly imperfect. Nothing can be as shocking as having fur wallpaper and ceilings in a bathroom though . It's just nasty!

What bothers me more than all of that is the industrial shutters at the window. This is in a garage of some sort maybe. A set design and not a real bathroom surely...

Are those shutters? I thought it was planks of some kind of coarse rustic wood.

With each element that gets revealed this just gets weirder and creepier. It's like a mashup of Kenneth Anger and Ed Wood.

Unfortunately this is the real bathroom in Jane's home, not a set.

I'm more concerned by the fact that it's tiny. Perhaps for a dog. Look at the way she's scrunched up.

If one was tacky enough for a heart shaped bathtub, one would want it large!

Started coughing just looking at it.

Badly drawn cupids in the sink to match the teeny tiny heart bathtub. Swan taps too. Nothing like a gold swan vomiting on your toothbrush to get you going in the morning.

I.... I just, uh.... wow. Words fail.

The whole thing looks like a set that David Lynch would concoct for a dream sequence.

It occurs to me that Donald Trump's New York bathroom might be in competition with this horror show. Doesn't he famously have a gold toilet installed there?

The bath design is ghastly but at least one of the perfumes is choice.

That large white bottle is a jumbo sized atomizer of Femme, like this one:

I kind of love the high-femme kitsch of the bathroom, though the carpet is giving me hives just thinking of all the mold spores.

Yes. The round white bottle is the perfume called Marcel Rochas Femme Eau de Cologne Spray. You can get it on EBay but the bottle design changed. You can however find the exact bottle sometimes on Ebay.
