Default anyone here wear madras shirts?

I don't own one yet so I'm curious if it's worth owning. Lands End usually have some good ones that are on sale.

Used to wear these in the late 60's in the summer. They were light and felt comfortable on the skin.

    I do.
There's a local company that makes traditional logger/farmer types of shirts out of madras that I'm partial to

I have a couple I bought last year from Orvis.....made out of linen.

As long as you're comfortable wearing colorful shirts, they are fine.

This! I've got a short sleeve one in a red, white, and blue plaid. Almost like a linen so it's very comfortable in summer.
No idea what the Lands End ones are like, but their clothing is usually pretty good quality.
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.

    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

finally got me some Land's End seersuckers and a madras. These are really nice for sure. Took me a year to get some! LOL. Now, there are some other "types" of summer wear like linen (but these are plain looking), or gingham (are these for women only or a female version of a seersucker?). Of course some polos made of supima or are "mesh" comes to mind to.

They are very nice and 'preppy' but I couldn't find one with long sleeves to suit my style. I don't wear short sleeved shirts out of principle.

I envy those who can pull them off though.

They're cool, lightweight, colorful and easy to wear. Madras shirts are great for spring/summer.
