Cruel question. Perhaps Etat libre d'Orange. It has enough perfumes I really like. It's probably just missing a very fresh thing that's at the same level as other fresh perfumes I love.

Editions de Parfums, even though it's not my favourite.

Has a great selection of scents for every mood, occasion, season, and reason.

I like Chanel. Honorable mention to Dior, Guerlain, Hermes, and Patou.

    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

The choice is obvious for me: Pascal Morabito

I'd just wear Or Black and life would go on. M de Morabito is icing on the cake for an extra animalic treat, but I could live with Or Black and nothing else. Wouldn't want to live without it, though.

    Very surprising answers!

If I could answer the question in 1995 -- Guerlain, hands down.

Today? Hermes. No, Chanel. No, Hermes. No, Chanel. No, .....

It would be one between Hermes, Chanel and Frederic Malle. I would have to think really hard.

Another vote for the house of Guerlain.
I love the classics like Jicky, Mitsouko and Shalimar but also
    their Aqua Allegorias and Idylle.

Have to agree with this, though my love for Guerlain persisted until 2014. Unfortunately Guerlain in 2014/2015 became a completely different company, discontinuing many of their greats and launching subpar dreck.

These days, I'm leaning more towards Serge Lutens, or Dior, perhaps (as long as they don't discontinue Leather Oud or their classics).

At various times in the past, answering this question, my response would have been Annick Goutal, Guerlain or Chanel. Today it's Mugler. A lot of it has to do with the combination of how perfumes of those houses have been altered over time and availability issues. My relationship with perfume houses is interactive and I tend to go with the house I feel is making the best effort to satisfy customers.
