right now, I only have access to:
6501 Pour Monsieur EdT Concentree, bought in Toronto (The Bay), 2015 or 2016

maybe someone wants to trade their Egoiste (vintage or 2015-2017), Coromandel, Sycamore or Cuir de Russie? Especially convenient if you live in Toronto or GTA...

hope you can use the code, OP...

Very helpful! Your No. 5 EDP would either be 2000 or 2008, so depends on early mid or late, late, late mid!

Neither of these have a batch code on the bottle that I can find.

It's a bit like a watermark. Look on the back, at the very bottom, in the center. Use a strong light at many different angles. At the correct angle, numbers will appear as fogginess in the glass. I have No. 19 as both the later Poudrť (2011) and an earlier EDT, pre-2000. Both have the watermark.

This would be April 2010, IMO. Long list pretty much makes that a certainty. Good stuff!!! And thanks for the data point. Every one helps!

Sure can use it - Thanks!!!

This appears to have been one of the slowest bottles yet - tha batch would be May of 2013. Might have been in the back of the drawer and overlooked.

Thanks for checking! Even though they're the same codes, this verifies that people can get them if the box is missing - very good to know! My pre-2000 Allure Homme has no watermark anywhere, making the date of manufacture very ambiguous.

Thanks, PerfumedLady! Yes, your L'Eau is the same as mine! The others all make sense, too.

If you want to add more codes, feel free. Part of the analysis is simply statistical, so any valid Chanel code will help achieve the results, even if it's something not analyzed closely. I'm going to add my minis and body products, too!

Good, if minis and B&B codes are useful, I have a bunch more recent ones for you. Most of my recent orders have been bath goodies and makeup.

    From just last week:
    No.5 Bath Soap-1201
    No.5 Deodorant-1402
    No.5 L'Eau, sample-0505

    March 2017: Cristalle Body Lotion-0714

    December 2016:
    Boy, mini-0401
    No.5 L'Eau, mini-0502

    Fall 2016: No.5 Body Oil-0208

And a few more bottles that may be in the middle range of dates you were looking at (bought around 2010):

    No.5 EDT-3511

    Coco Mademoiselle EDT-2623

    Coco Mademoiselle EDP-2320

I bought a bunch of Cristalle EDP minis, batch code 3920, about 2-3 years ago (Beauty Encounter). These have me stumped as the mini bottle matches Cristalle EDP's original bottle, a blocky square splash with round black cap. But I really don't suspect these as being very old. Curious to know if you turn anything up on these.

And do you notice how the same batch code turns up for different fragrances made around the same time? I have two sets of "matched pairs" (that I've noticed)! My 31 RC and 28 LP codes match, as do the big L'Eau bottle and my Boy mini. Does batch code for Chanel refer to production date only? I've always wondered about that 6 digit code some have been posting; I suppose this code provides them more detail?

Cristalle EdP, 100ml, bought in spring 2015, already reformulated (tester was from 2013 and smelled totally different). Code is engraved on the lower backside of the bottle.

Have a vintage Pour Monsieur, but it doesnt have a batch code (anymore? Maybe it was similar to my vintage Equipage where the code was painted on the bottle, so easily got erased).

The synthetic chemicals present a certain challenge to nature, and the perfumer can assist nature in her fight by utilizing the synthetic materials to the advantage of the natural raw materials. (S. @PerfumedLady - I'll have to think about those Cristalle minis. The most recent they could be would be early 2011 - otherwise 2003.

Those matching pairs are another demonstration of Chanel's generally fresh juice. There is not much pooling of stock in stores, so you're likely to get the latest delivery.

The 4-number batch codes give the production date - the other number is a catalog number.

    Thanks again!!!

@NebelGeist - your vintage sounds reasonable - I don't think they were watermarking universally until more recently - years that would not be considered vintage by most. & Thanks!

I have no doubt your juice is genuine.

My 50 mL PE bottle has a watermark of "J345" in the glass on the bottom of the back under the lettering - it takes a strong light at an angle and a magnifying glass to see it clearly. I believe the J is used as a zero for some reason, because I purchased in Macy's in June 2008, so 03 would be March 2008 manufacture. It's possible the bottle software was trimming leading zeroes - a common problem.

    Thanks, cacio!

Would 3 years ago do for the Eau de Cologne? If it was 5, was there anything unusual about your Eau de Cologne, presumably purchased around 2012, that would lead to it being old when you bought it? Is it a huge size? Or could you have gotten it in late 2014 or early 2015? The code says October of 2006 or 2014.

I don't know whether this will be useful, as I got these used from strangers so I don't know the purchase dates.
    I have a #19 parfum 15 ml code 5416
I have a #5 EDC 60 ml, I can't make out the whole code but it seems to start with PH. I'm sure about the P, less sure about the H.

Thanks! Any data us useful - even data that can't be used!

The #5 is interesting and may be old. The #19 will have multiple dates, and may depend upon bottle clues or known history to be resolved. But they still help!

The #5 was bought in an antique mall ($5) so somebody thought it was old. The #19 has the "fat" or thick stopper top, the beveled handle part, like was used in the 70s-80s. Sorry I didn't think to include that.

Excellent! That Antaeus continues to lock in the proposed year scheme, with its cross-boundary manufacture and purchase dates. Very helpful!!!

    You're welcome!

I'm hoping to get a few more values, and then start crunching the numbers. I can already tell a lot, but the vintage stuff will be rough. Not as many data points.

Here's a little more on the EDC: the label is paper, says Eau de Cologne; No 5; Chanel; in that order. On the back of the label, not the bottle, is CHANEL, Inc.; New York, NY, zip too tiny to read; 2FL OZ 59ML. Bottom of the bottle has entwined Cs on one corner and 18 on the other, but no Chanel cast into the glass.

Sorry to give you this so piecemeal; i guess i'm a little tired. But excited at the thought of maybe finding out how old this is. Thanks for what you are doing, even if I don't get a date for this one.

P.S. I found an old thread about decoding Chanel's date codes, with a lot of codes and dates. Have you mined that info yet?

Give me some time to collect my bottles and get out the magnifying glass and a bright lamp, and I will gladly let you know.

I hope I have kept a listing or even photos of all my past Chanels - looking now and will get back with you!
    This is fascinating!

Gee I don't have the boxes. I'm only finding 3 digit codes on the bottles. Don't know if it's helpful:

    2 bottles No.19 edt purchased from Nordstom around 2006 and 2008 BP1 and TK1

1 bottle Egoiste cologne concentree purchased from Nordstrom in 1998 XA1
