    Default Checking and Registering Perfume Names

    Hi there

    Has anyone any experience in

    a. checking perfume names. I don't want to name my new creation "No.5" if its already been used :-)
    b. registering it so that no one else can use it? Costs etc??

    You should go to the patent registration office and ask. Names? what do you mean? Is it registered as a trade name that nobody can use it? Ask again at the patent office.
    The registration of the trade name is local. It works only inside the country and inside the specific goods- for example, perfumery. And for the limited period of time.
    Before to spend money for registration be sure that your trade name earns that money to you back.

    A trip to the patent office would be a long and expensive trip. Anyone UK based?
