    Post Fragrances to buy/Recommend

    Hi Basenoters,

Got 50% OFF to spend on a website. I've been out of the fragrance game for a while. I need recommendations on few fragrances that i'm looking at.

    1. Spicebomb Extreme - any difference to the original?
    2. Versace Dylan Blue
    3. Dior Sauvage

All were recommended by a friend to draw compliments. I own the original Spicebomb which is pretty nice. Just thought it doesn't last as i would have liked.
I'm open to suggestions on designer fragrances on the market with good staying power, silage and projection.

From your list, go with Sauvage.

Yeah, from you list, Sauvage. Any details on coupon and site?

Prada L'Homme: much better than the three mentioned above. The perfect "clean" designer scent, versatile as can be with solid performance.

What do you consider solid performance?

6 to 8 hours of longevity with whatever kind of projection is right for the scent. In this case the projection is a nice balance of subtlety and presence. It's there for sure, but it's not loud.

Sauvage is prob the most versatile out of them

Longevity, sillage, projection, compliments... If these are your concerns there is one which stands alone- Sauvage! And nobody can dispute that, regardless of our personal tastes.

Spicebomb extreme smells closer to tom ford tobacco vanille than the original spicebomb, and performance is excellent.

Ohh i know a good new release you might like, nasomatto baraonda, it's fairly safe for a nasomatto, it starts out with a super realistic whisky note, then dries down to a creamy almost coconut'y woody scent.

This is very true, I prefer the original and Tobacco Vanille when I want something more in that direction, Spicebomb extreme can quickly become overwhelming with sweetness.

I'd go with John Varvatos Vintage....the 3 you listed I don't find that good.

If you're looking at 50% off, I may entertain the thought of looking into niche fragrances. A few that aren't overly expensive and garner compliments are:

    Niche
    1. Wind Wood by Mancera
    2. Cedrat Boisee by Mancera
    3. Itasca by Lubin
    4. Índole by Lubin
    5. Endymion EDC by Penhaligon's

Designer (I think Dandydude has a very solid list, I'd add..,)
    1. Mugler Cologne
    2. Lalique White
    3. L'Instant de Guerlain
    4. Burberry London
    5. Valentino Uomo Intense

From your list, I'd say Dylan Blue, but truth be told, I've never really taken to the fragrances you'd mentioned. I'm not saying they're bad, but when I'd tested them, none of them wore well given my chemistry.

I would go with the Spicebomb Extreme. It's an EDP and great if you like the EDT.

Extreme trades most of the spices for (play)doughy, heavier tobacco and vanilla notes, yet fades much too quickly for me despite being an EdP. Tobacco Vanille, The One EdP do that shindig better.

    I prefer the original.

    Sauvage.

I work in a place where compliments are rare (dull work environment & people) & I still receive compliments on the daily from wearing it.

Not my fav, but Guerlain's sure is a compliment getter. Chanel's Blue and Bvlgari Man are similar, but they don't get attention at all. I always asked myself why.

Thanks everyone. I decided to test Dior Sauvage today and i wasn't impressed at all. Don't think i will pull the trigger.

Torn between Armani code profumo and Spicebomb Extreme? Need Opinions on overall smell, longevity and projection?
Spicebomb original was one of my favorite until reformulation killed it.

Both of those are much sweeter than the original spicebomb. Have you thought about Spicebomb fresh?
