    Default Ambrette seeds for tincturing

    Hello all.

I would like to experiment with tincturing ambrette seeds. Can anyone recommend a supplier, I am finding a UK supplier difficult to locate?

    Thanks

There is none I can find in the Uk, but Hevea laboratories in France sell them as raw plant material.

How much are you looking for to start with, I might be able to help at a very low price.

    Hi
I was thinking of making my ambrette seeds tincture as well and I renew this thread to ask
what does the ambrette seed tincture smell like?
    how do you use it?
has something similar with ambrette (Hibiscus abelmoschus) CO2 extract?

the tincture won't give the same results as a CO2 extraction.

    thanks,

but it's still with the same or similar odor profile?

That I wouldn’t know. Are you an all naturist trying to find a musky smell?

no, actually I'm just discovering new stuff.
Long story short, I'm making an online order and consider to include some ambrette seeds to try a tincture.

Oh. Awesome. I’d like to hear how it goes. I’m tincuring 10 tahichian vanilla pods to prefix my perfumers alcohol. Would love to hear about your results.

Yeah I believe that I'll give it a try, but it'll take a long time.
I'm very curious (and ignorant) about the concept of prefixing the alcohol with musk or even civette and castoreum (or vanilla as you do).
recently I've used a (very weak) orris roots tincture in alcohol in a similar way but could you tell me something more about how and why to do it?
I mean, I guess it improves longevity but is that right and there's something else?
