Default best brand to make polo shirts for men?

I'm sure a polo shirt is a polo shirt regardless of what brand it is. Even the Lands End brand has some nice ones. Any recommendations?

Also, do you prefer polo shirts or t-shirts?

I like Brooks Brothers and RL polo shirts. I usually pick up the BB shirts at their outlet store(s) and the RL shirts from Marshall's or TJ Maxx.

    For relaxing, I prefer t-shirts.

POLO Ralph Lauren for the variety of colors and fabrics. None compare IMO. But....I also like Nautica polos for comfort. Another one, if you can still find it, is David Chu. He was the original founder of Nautica. +1 for Brooks Brothers too.

I enjoy POLO T-shirts for relaxing.

I believe it's a sheep that has a ribbon wrapped around its abdomen, as if it's being raised by a hoyer lift. Truth be told, I'd rather sport a warthog!

Lacoste. Best fabrics for the price range and so many colors to choose.
I like t-shirts the best for the comfort and for the variety of stamps we can get. Love my t-shirts. It's so good to wear them with some jeans and a pair of slip-ons.

Tommy Babama's has the best knit polo shirts - durable and comfortable. They are the founder's favorite shirt and named after him.

If you are going to "make" shirts as in screenprint logos, I have used the Nike Dry Fit - they are cool in hot weather and do well for a sharp looking appearance.

I prefer polo shirts but have many T's as well.

I'd say polos are meant to be casual collared shirts and in a different category than t-shirts altogether.

Somehow yes. T-shirts are very informal for working i.e., depending on where and what you work with.

Vineyard Vines. Their polo shirts sport a cute whale logo that's very attractive. I much prefer the look of polo shirts instead of t-shirts. It's a more polished classic look.

I believe this was a brand based in D.C. that went away and are now back in business again, I think?

I'm not crazy about polo shirts but those by Aeronautica Militare are most comfortable.

I would have to say when it comes to polo shirts ( actually the original "polo shirt" was the button-down Oxford dress shirt by Brooks Brothers) would have to be Brooks Brothers mainline golden fleece. The color does not fade, shirts staying the same size through many washing and drying, and the collor does not get out of shape over time.

Polo brand is great- several fits and fabrics, and stays looking nice for a long time.

For a more athletic fabric (summer wear), try Under Armour.
My only regrets in life are the people I haven't stood up for,
and the perfumes I've thrown away.

I am a 34y. old sport lover and a big fan of Tommy Hilfiger and Polo RL. Recently I try some tri-mountain polo shirts. The quality was good and true to sizes.

I'm a big fan of Bobby Jones and Original Penguin.

As for wearing them--I am a teacher, so I wear them there from time-to-time. I'll wear one on a casual date with my wife on occasion too. Just hanging around at home is always a t-shirt.

The fit has to be spot on and flattering for a polo, or it just won't do. It is the worst piece of men's wear that if not top in fit and quality.
