I used to be into some really expensive niche jeans /Japanese denim and what a waste of money that was for me.
I just retire to a few Levis slim tapered leg ones and Im good these days. They are clean, they fit well, and are enough quality for me and cheap price.

Calvin Klein has a huge variety of skinny ones. Armani has nice slim fit pieces. Look for jeans with at least 2% of elastane. But the most comfortable ones I have tried and have are made by a mix of fabrics and have the texture of a sweatshirt despite clearly looking like and dressing like jeans.
I found the 502's to be perfect.
    Regular fit, tapered leg.

But get this: they're all "stretch fit" now. I bought a couple, dark denim, and worn in light blue. They fit great, like normal jeans.
But all the new 502's are able to stretch, so they don't look as good wearing them. When ever you bend your knees, you can see the material stretching, and it looks like you're wearing pants for seniors with the elastic waist.

They always gotta ruin a good thing.
    Damn.

On the flip side, the Straight Slim Jeans at American Eagle are totally working for this 51 year-old less than flawless build. They too have flex, and man are they comfortable.

It's like putting on jeans that feel like pajama pants, but they are still snug and sleek. A welcome respite for an average guy in middle age.

APC jeans are great indeed. Apart from those, I wear my Nonnative jeans a lot. Also, gotta say I found Yeezy jeans shockingly good. Thought this brand was all marketing and hype.

Clearance at hollister I picked up like 8 pairs of extreme skinny jeans they are some of my favorite fits (really molded to my leg and a bit of stretch) and for 20 bucks a pair a steal for me.

I'm trying to get out of this as well. It is kind of tough, going to Neimans & Saks for Frags, I end up stopping by the shoe & jean sections as well

Oh I still stop by and window shop. I like and appreciate the looks and quality but not for me anymore. I used to be heavily into English shoes buying and selling. Now I still drop by John lobb boutique every now and then to see what they have but not interested in actually owning.

Express jeans are what I go for almost every time. They have 50% and 40% off sales quite often, plus they sent out coupons every few weeks. They fit great and they're very stylish without being obnoxious (looking at you, Buckle).

I buy socks and underwear from H&M since their store is the closest to my home, they are OK. Everything else has such a terrible quality

Yeah, I tried a few things from them. It's cheap for a reason. The stuff doesn't fit right and it falls apart. It's gotten worse over the years.

Anything skinny, black jeans with tons of stretch. Black stretch leggings also. I’m brand inattentive.
